At L'Espérou, take the D548 towards Cascades d'Orgon but then leave this road and follow the D329, pass the Col de la Lusette and park in the first car park on the right-hand side of the road, at the La Draille drovers' road signpost.
GR®® Red and White markings
(S/E) Head towards the signpost and head south towards Cap de Côte on theGR®®60, which follows a drovers' road that is very stony in places. Ignore a path on the right. Further on, the drovers' road winds down to the road, where there is a car park and information panels about the Cévennes National Park.
Yellow and redGRP®® markings and yellow markings
(1). Follow the path to the right of these signs towards Cascade d'Orgon (leave theGR®® markings for the red and yellowGRP®® markings). You will soon reach the Cap de Côte marker, near the lodge, and follow the signs for Cascades d'Orgon 3.9 km (be careful not to follow the longer path that also leads to the waterfalls). About 2 km further on, when the path runs alongside the Valat de l'Abreuvoir valley, one of the waterfalls is visible on the other side. Further on, the path comes up against this valat (torrent, or a small valley, or a stream in the Cévennes language).
(2) There is no footbridge and the stream can be difficult to ford, or even impossible if the water level is high. (The passage indicated by the markings was hardly passable when we were there. We crossed a few metres downstream and then climbed back up a little to find the path.) Shortly afterwards, arrive at the Orgon Trial signpost and continue towards Cascades d'Orgon. You will come to an intersection with a fairly inconspicuous path: the signpost is clearly visible and the path that continues straight ahead is blocked by branches.
(3) Turn right onto this very steep and rugged path, which winds upwards in tight hairpin bends. Pay close attention to the markings, which are clearly visible. Higher up, on the plateau, the path branches off to the left and joins the top of the waterfalls at the Cascades d'Orgon signpost.
No visible markings
(4) A footbridge crosses the stream just above the highest waterfall and offers a view of the Coudoulous valley (a beautiful spot for a break). Leave the site and theGRP®® markings, following the direction of Les Abeouradous. Join a track.
(5) Follow it to the right until you reach an intersection at the Les Abeouradous signpost.
Yellow markings
(6) Follow the signs for Valat de l'Abreuvoir by taking the yellow-marked trail that branches off to the right at a right angle (do not follow the trail that runs parallel to the track). Ignore a path on the left and cross three tributaries of the Valat de l'Abreuvoir, two of which can be forded without difficulty. Reach the Valat de l'Abreuvoir marker at an intersection.
(7) Follow the signs for the drovers' road, turning left at the hairpin bend. Continue straight ahead on the path to reach the first signpost on the drovers' road. Turn right to reach the second signpost and the car park (S/E).
