La Cible car park next to the motocross track.
(S/E) Take the path at the far end of the car park. Continue until you reach the huge stone wall (firebreak) on the left. Then turn left up the slope until you reach the junction with a small path branching off to the right.
(1) Follow this path. The walk follows the lower edge of the pine plantation, then enters it, veering slightly to the left. Stay on the route marked with Yellow Rectangles. The path joins a track; take it to the right. This track in turn crosses another, more passable track, which you should also take to the right.
(2) Below the Pioch de la Barre, the track makes a wide bend to the right. Stay on this track, which skirts round the Pioch de la Barre at a constant altitude until you reach a junction with several tracks.
Note: it is possible to go straight on, along a steep path heading due north without going round the Pioch de la Barre.
(3) Go straight on, following the same signposting. At the next junction, go straight on again and continue for a few dozen metres. Turn left at the next junction and continue for a good hundred metres until you reach a four-way junction.
(4) Take the path that descends slightly to the right and passes under the high-voltage power lines. Once you’ve passed them, continue straight on past a water tank until you reach a three-way junction.
(5) Take in the view over the Étang de Thau, then take the path on the left. Stay on this main path until you reach the junction at the Montjas viewing platform, after passing under the high-voltage power lines once more.
(6) There are numerous paths, but you must follow the yellow markings, taking the second path on the right. When you reach a pylon, begin the final descent along the path that rejoins the stone embankment you passed on the way out.
(1) Continue straight on to reach the car park next to the motocross track (S/E).
