Description of the walk

Serrigues Quarry car park.

(S/E) Follow the path that goes round the quarry to the left. Continue to a junction.

(1) Turn right onto the path that runs along the side of Montagne de Charance, through the woods, and reach a junction at the edge of the woods.

(2) Take the path on the left, which winds its way up through the pine trees to the ridge. You will reach the Col de la Côte Gelée.

(3) On the ridge, follow the path on the left towards the woods.

(4) Climb over the Tête de Guizière and descend to the Col de Guizière.

(5) At the pass, head down to the left through the mountain pastures via wide switchbacks. You’ll reach a junction.

(6) Keep to the path on the left which leads to a junction you passed on the way up.

(1) Follow the outward route in the opposite direction to return to the car park (S/E).

A very beautiful walk, even with unpredictable weather and a bit of snow. Our dog loved it.

A magnificent hike with incredible views over the Champsaur Valley, the Ecrins and the Dévoluy.
Gentle gradients both uphill and downhill.
Once we reached point 3, we took a short detour up to the right, which gave us a great spot for a picnic facing the Dévoluy. And we avoided the final climb by turning right before the ascent to point 4. There is a small path that allows you to go round the Tête de Guizière (the path between points 3 and 5 follows the ridge, going up and down).
