Coming from Villemaréchal, on arrival in Vaupuiseau, park by the stud farm on the left.
(1) Take the path on the right, facing the entrance to Vaupuiseau.
At the end of the path, take the path on the right. You’ll pass under the overhead power lines; on the right, you can see the Pierre Fitte menhir.
(2) Directly opposite the menhir, take the path on the left. You’ll arrive in the hamlet of Les Ortures.
In the hamlet, follow the yellow markings. You’ll reach the hamlet’s main road; turn left onto Rue de Villemaréchal, then take the third road on the right, ‘Rue du Réservoir’.
Walk up this street; at the end, turn left. Continue to follow the paths on the left until you reach the Nanteau cemetery.
(3) Cross the orchard to reach a road junction. Take Rue des Arches, almost directly opposite, towards Nanteau.
Cross the River Lunain via two bridges. Continue straight on; you can already see the Allée Pavée in the Nanteau forest.
(4) We are now on the Allée Pavée; head uphill straight ahead to take the Allée de Rosiers on the left (Fork in the road).
At the junction of four paths, take the path on the left and follow it – it’s more like a track – until you approach the D58 road. Just before you reach it, turn right twice onto the other track.
When you reach a crossroads, carry on straight ahead. At the end of the path, you’ll come back onto the Allée de Rosiers, which you take to the left.
(5) At the crossroads, take the path on the left, continue until you reach the D58, which you cross (take care), and take the path opposite. Immediately after the junction, take the path on the left.
We come out onto the road again, but take the path immediately on the right for about 600 metres.
(6) At the crossroads, take the path opposite. It is bordered by a wire fence on the right; at the end of the fence, take the path on the right.
We come to Rue des Avantoires; at the end of the street, turn left, then immediately right onto Route des Ricordaux.
We are now on theGR® de pays du Lunain; follow the signposts along the road, and take the path on the left 150m further on, which is still signposted.
(7) At the junction, leave theGR® and, after the fence, turn left.
(8) Cross the Lunain via the Pont Thierry (a very distinctive flat-stone bridge) and continue to the road.
(9) Cross the D69 with care, and take the Route de Vaupuiseau opposite, which leads us back to the car park 800m away, which we’ll find on the right.
