Parking available at the Villemaréchal village hall.
(S/E) On leaving the car park, turn left onto the road towards the cemetery. After about 50m, take the path leading uphill to the right. After about 200m, at the crossroads, take the path on the right. This path crosses Rue du Tremblay; continue straight ahead along the path opposite.
(1) At the four-way junction, take the second path on the left (south-east).
(2) At the Y-junction, take the path on the right (alongside the gardens). At the next Y-junction, turn left. N.B. The detour you have just taken avoids the dangerous bend on the D218.
Pass through the hamlet of the White Cross and, at the end (elevation 136), turn right. Continue along the road for about 800m.
(3) Take the path on the right. This path leads to the entrance of a house. Below, on the left, a somewhat rough path descends slightly. This path ends at the top by a monument with a wrought-iron cross. Descend to the right until you reach the Route de la Vallée.
(4) Turn left and, immediately, take Rue du Gault on the right. You are now in Paley. Continue straight on, crossing the Lunain with one of its wash houses on the left.
Just after crossing the Lunain, turn right. You are now on theGRP® du Lunain. Continue along Rue de la Mairie (note the Château de Paley on the left and the church of Paley on the right). At the cemetery, go straight on onto Route de Nanteau. Continue along theGRP®. At the first junction, go straight on, following theGRP®. At the Y-junction, turn right onto Route des Tesnières. Pass in front of the Moulin de Toussac.
(5) After the mill, follow theGRP® on the left (beforehand, walk round the mill to see the water inlet).
(6) At the four-way junction, leave theGRP® and turn right onto the path over the Pont Thierry, also known as the Pont César (wash house on the left).
Continue along the path until you reach Route de la Vallée, then carry on straight towards Vaupuiseau. Follow the road uphill; as you leave the hamlet of Vaupuiseau, you will see a stud farm on your right.
(7). Behind this stud farm, you will see the first water tower in the commune of Villemaréchal. Take the path on the right.
After about 600m, follow the second path on the left. Then, after another 600m or so, at the very end of the path, turn right. After 300m, take the path on the left for about 800m. You will come to a tarmac road.
(8) Turn right onto it; you will immediately reach a junction of three roads; turn left, towards Villemaréchal. Follow the road downhill and continue along the path straight ahead (steep descent) which leads to Rue du Tremblay. Go down to the left.
Walk past the Villemaréchal town hall. Turn right to return to the village hall car park (S/E) after the tennis courts and the school
