The starting point is in Serraval, a village located on the D12 between Faverges and Thônes. Coming from Faverges, park in the car park located about 100 metres after the church on the right.
(S/E) At the end of the car park, take the stairs that lead to a path running alongside the house. Turn left and follow this clearly marked path until you reach a track.
(1) Turn left and, after about 30 metres, take the path on the right that climbs alongside a small stream until it reaches a road.
(2) Turn right towards La Combe, follow this road to the end and continue along a path until you reach the signpost for "La Combe - 910 m".
(3) Head straight ahead towards "Col de la Botte par Attrape-qui-peut". Be careful: after 200 metres, the path branches off to the left. Be careful, as the path is narrow and runs alongside a steep drop for about 20 metres on this climb. Continue until you reach a wide path, then turn right and walk for about 50 metres until you reach the sign for "Attrape-qui-peut Ouest".
(4) Take the path on the left, which leads smoothly to Col de la Botte.
(5) Head towards "Sommet de Sulens".
(6) Please note that after about 300 metres, the marked path (not shown on the IGN map) branches off to the right. Continue straight ahead. Further on, on the climb up to Montagne de Sulens, you will need to be very careful for about 200 metres as the path runs alongside a precipice: a sign warns hikers of this. The climb is steady until you reach Petit Sulens (1,776 m). Continue for about 150 m to reach Col de Sulens.
(7) Leave the path on your left, which you will take later, and continue straight ahead to the Sommet de Sulens, the highest point of the hike.
(8) Turn back towards Col de Sulens.
(7) Turn right towards "Serraval via Grande Montagne". Continue downhill to the Chalet de Grande Montagne.
(9) Follow the signs for "Serraval": be sure to take the path that branches off to the right about ten metres after the sign. Follow a series of wide hairpin bends before coming out onto a track suitable for vehicles.
(10) Continue to the left. Once at the inverted Y-shaped junction, take a sharp left turn and continue to the hamlet of Le Mont, where you will rejoin the tarmac road. Follow the road to the right to cross the hamlet.
(11) At the exit of Le Mont, leave the road and continue on the left along the marked path. After about 50 metres, look for the high-voltage line that crosses this path perpendicularly. Then look for the third electricity pole downstream of the path: next to this pole, you will see a marked path that starts here in the middle of nowhere. To get there: after the large tree (there is only one), turn right (markings in place but no path) to follow the intermittent stream to another electricity pole (wooden) that supplies the farm buildings: there is a passageway that allows you to cross over the stream. From there, head for the third electricity pylon on the high-voltage line and follow the path to Route de la Combe at a bridge.
(12) Turn left and rejoin the path you took on the way up to Serraval.
(2) Turn right and retrace your steps to return to the car park (S/E).
