The yellow markings have not been redone for a long time. They are partially faded. Stick to the description, map or GPS, but there are no major difficulties.
This route can always be shortened, as there are several options for returning directly to Dourgne.
(S/E) The hikers' car park, behind the town hall and near the secondary school, is signposted at the entrance to the village. Information boards and picnic tables.
Join the main road (D12) Avenue du Maquis and head left towards the church. Pass the fountain and the war memorial, go down the left side of the church and turn right following the slope. You will cross the first stream, the Taurou.
(1) At a place called La Rivière Haute, turn left. Further on, take the right fork and cross the D85 with caution.
(2) Take the Chemin du Talou Nègre straight ahead and follow it north.
(3) Turn left towards La Bastide and follow the remarkable avenue of plane trees, then turn right onto the small road to Saint-Avit. Follow it for 200 metres
(4) Turn left towards the hamlet of En Lanet, cross the Taurou again and continue west. At the first junction, go straight ahead.
(5) Turn left and cross the hamlet of La Gascarié, following a large pond just after the bread oven. Then cross La Gineste, the second stream on the route.
(6) Cross the D12, follow it to the left for 30 metres, then turn right onto the small road that now heads towards the mountain. Pass the crossroads near the hamlet of En Séguier.
(7) Turn right onto theGR®653(Compostela) and follow it to the top of the small hill that leads to the D85. The third stream, the Melzic, crosses this section of the route.
(8) Cross the D85 (caution recommended) and take the Tarsicoy path, almost opposite, facing the mountain. Continue to the place called La Tuilerie.
(9) Turn left onto the Tuilerie road and descend towards the hamlet of La Montagnarié, crossing the Melzic again. Cross the hamlet and continue straight ahead on the stony path that leads to Dourgne.
