Park in the car park at Port Notre-Dame beach in Sainte-Marie-de-Ré, next to the Hôtel Atalante thalassotherapy centre.
(S/E) Take the path to the west of the car park to reach Rue des Fautreaux. At the crossroads with Rue du Port Notre-Dame, turn left and then, about 20 metres further on, turn right into Chemin du Meunier. When you reach Rue du Laguin, turn left.
(1) At the crossroads of Rue du Laguin, Rue de la Terre Rouge, Rue du Port Notre-Dame and Rue de l'Abbaye, continue straight ahead along Rue de l'Abbaye. Almost at the end of the road, turn left onto Rue du Petit Labat, then take the fourth street on the right, Rue du Cimetière. Walk along the cemetery, cross the small square and you will reach the village church.
(2) Once at the church, continue north until you reach Rue Mathurin Villeneuve. Turn right, then right again to return to Rue de l'Abbaye. At the junction with Rue du Petit Labat (which you took earlier), turn left onto Rue de la Grange.
At the crossroads with Rue du Mur Auger and Rue de la Petite Grange, keep heading north and continue along Rue de la Grange.
(3) At the end, turn left onto Rue de la Malette and continue for about 30 metres. Immediately turn right onto Rue de la Pomme. Then cross Rue de la Beurelière and take Rue des Moineaux almost opposite.
(4) When you reach the D201, cross (with caution) to reach the dirt track opposite. Continue straight ahead at each intersection until you reach a large wooded area.
(5) Once in this area, continue straight ahead, enter the woods and, after about 30 metres, take the first track on the right. Follow this track straight ahead until you reach the tarmac road: Chemin du Fonds des Bragauds.
(6) Cross the road and take the dirt track on the far right. At the first crossroads, continue straight ahead. At the next crossroads, stay on the main track, turning 90° to the left. Then turn into the first track in the undergrowth on the right after about 40 metres. Stay on this track, continuing straight ahead at each intersection until you reach the D201.
(7) Cross the road (take care) and continue on the road almost opposite, slightly to the left. At the junction with the Route du Laguin, turn left and take the first track on the right which leads to the beach.
(8) Turn right and follow the beach to the car park where you started (S/E).
