Find parking in the village of Mutrécy, near the town hall.
(S/E) With your back to the town hall, turn right onto Rue du Pont du Coudray, then turn right onto Rue d'Auge. When you reach the church, go down Rue de l'Église on the right for about 100 metres and take the first street on the left (Chemin du Coupe Gorge), which climbs slightly. This is theGR®36marked in red and white.
(1) After crossing the village, leave theGR®36and follow the D156 on the left. Join a farm track.
(2) Take it on the left and follow it to the end, then turn left (heading due north) to join the D257.
(3) Go up the road on the right and quickly turn right onto the first path on the plain, heading due south. Further on, you will come to a four-way crossroads.
(4) Turn right onto the tarmac road lined with a hedge and cross the hamlet of Les Huets. Continue to the wash house in the hamlet of Bas de Saint-Laurent, then to the three-way junction before the church.
(5) Turn right onto Chemin Gougeon and continue to the entrance to Grimbosq Forest.
(6) Cross the D156 and take the forest path opposite. After a few hundred metres, this path dips down to a large crossroads of trails, then begins to climb.
(7) Leave the path and follow mountain bike trail no. 7 to the right, running along the left bank of the Coupe-Gorge stream. You will arrive at the Chêne Guillot car park.
(8) Take the path on the right, continuing along the Coupe-Gorge stream. Follow it until you reach theGR®36(you will need to cross a road and descend a potentially muddy track).
(9) Cross the wooden bridge and follow theGR®36 trailto the right until you reach the Orne River. Turn right to reach the hamlet of Le Drollet.
(10) Begin a steep climb towards the village of Mutrécy (walking sticks recommended). At the end of the path following the climb, follow the street on the left to return to the town hall (S/E).
