After the hamlet of Les Rossinants, take the narrow road that passes through the hamlet of Chabotte, continue for 150m along the dirt track and park. (Warning! Do not park on the lay-by in front of the last houses at the end of the tarmac road; this car park is private!).
(S/E) Take the path continuing from the road and cross a stream. Follow this good forest track south-west, ignoring the side paths. You will reach a junction with a tarmac road (signposted “Pâquier”).
(1) Head towards the Chapelle de Pâquier. You’ll soon reach the hamlet and come to a T-junction.
(2) Follow the road to the left, cross a stream and continue to the next junction.
(3) Turn right onto Chemin de la Chapelle and walk past the chapel. At the end of the tarmac road, follow the path that runs between the houses, heading south then south-south-west. Ignore a path coming from the right and continue to the junction with a tarmac road (signpost “La croix des Chevaliers”).
(4) Head straight on towards Les Cinq Chemins.
(5) You’ll come to a small road at the first houses and, when it bends to the right, carry straight on along Chemin Sourd.
(6) At the Cinq Chemins crossroads (signpost), take the second path on the left, towards the orientation table. Head south-west, ignoring a path branching off to the right.
(7) You’ll come out onto a tarmac road; follow it to the left. After about 50 metres, take a path on the right. Head south-west up to the orientation table.
(8) Turn back, return to the road and follow it to the left for about 50 metres.
(7) Continue north on the road (Chemin des Côtes Martine). At the next junction, turn right onto Route de la Tour de la Cluze and walk past the cemetery on your right.
(9) At a crossroads, turn right onto Rue des Gantiers. Pass the town hall on your left (the church is just behind it) and then the old post office on your right.
(10) About a hundred metres further on, when the street bends to the right, turn left onto Chemin des Condamines.
(11) At the next junction (signposted “Château de Paquier”), turn left. Turn left in front of the château (on the left, a park with alpacas in season). Then turn right, leaving the château on your right, and walk alongside the horse pastures.
(12) Reach a tarmac road and follow it to the left. At the Fork in the road that appears immediately, turn right and cross the hamlet of Peillavène. After a right-hand bend, you’ll reach a junction you passed at the start of the walk.
(1) Turn left here and, at the Fork in the road, turn right. Follow the path in the opposite direction to the outward journey to return to Les Rossinants (S/E).
