Description of the walk

Start from La Bruffière church.

(S/E) Turn right onto Rue Sainte-Radegonde, then further on join Rue du Stade and turn left. Continue to the junction with Rue de Verteuil.

(1) Take the small path on the left to join Rue de la Pointe à Pitre further on. Turn right onto this street and head towards Croix Girard.

(2) Continue left into the Patis, reach a barrier, go through it and then cross the D62. Reach a crossroads of paths after a large housing estate.

(3) Follow the yellow-markedPR® path to the right. At the Tuaudière junction, join theGRP® Hucheloup variant.

(4) Take this path opposite and follow the yellow and red markings. You will reach the left bank of the Sèvre Nantaise. Follow this bank, staying on the GRP®. Veer off slightly to reach the Poinsetière junction.

(5) Leave theGRP® and turn left towards this hamlet, passing straight through it. Follow the path, walking alongside the Sèvre for a few metres to reach the junction with the D102.

(6) Cross the D102 and rejoin theGRP®, continuing on to Le Plessis.

(7) Cross the road and take the path opposite. Walk past five small ponds on the right. Pass the hamlet of Le Grand Déré to reach a T-junction.

(8) Turn left towards La Tremblaye, leaving the first path on your left and taking the second one on your right. Then, leaving the access to Les Étonnelières straight ahead, turn right at a 90° angle. You will reach another junction just before Le Petit Tail.

(9) Take the path on the left, joining the D102 at La Bâtardière.

(10) At the junction, take the D2102 to reach the church and car park via La Bruffière (S/E).

A beautiful section along the Sèvre, but a large part of the return journey is on uninteresting farm tracks

A lovely, easy circular route. The signposting seemed fine to me. The section along the Sèvre is very pretty; the end is more conventional.

No signposting except along the Sèvre, where we follow the PR. The walk was completed using the downloaded map. 09

A lovely walk, but there’s a major snag just outside Le Plessis: a cross prevents us from turning right, even though that’s the correct route; after that, there aren’t enough
markings on this section, although the first part was very well signposted.
Fortunately, we met some lovely people who pointed us in the right direction

The first section features some interesting, slightly uneven stretches, followed by a flatter second section. A very pleasant walk. Just to clarify, Rue Sainte Radegonde is located behind the church

A lovely walk along the banks of the Sèvre – very easy, even with children
