Description of the route

Start from Place d'Haguenau.

(S/E) Take Rue de Bischwiller, continue along Rue du Travail, then Rue Sébastopol, and cross the Pont de Paris.

(1) Immediately afterwards, turn right onto the cycle path, follow the canal on your right, and arrive at Place du Quartier Blanc, after crossing the Pont Couvert which spans the various branches of the Ill.

(2) Continue to the right along Rue du Cygne, and carry on over the bridge on Rue Averroes.

(3) Just after the bridge, turn right onto the cycle path and follow the Rhône-Rhine Canal on your right until you reach a supermarket car park on your left, at a bridge with steps.

(4) Before the bridge, turn left. Cross the supermarket car park and then, at the multi-way junction, take the cycle path, Route du Rhin. Continue along the second street on the right, Chemin du Routoir. Pass under a road bridge, then follow a backwater of the Rhine, and arrive at a small bridge spanning it on your left.

(5) Cross the bridge, then the footbridge (as of May 2026, this has collapsed, so the crossing may be a bit tricky), and continue along the path to the right until you reach a track suitable for vehicles. Follow it for a few metres to the right.

(6) Turn left before the bridge, and follow the path, keeping to the right at the various junctions, until you reach a forest track.

(7) Follow it to the left until you reach a wide county road.

(8) Take a sharp right-hand bend, taking care of the traffic, then take the cycle path on the right, a few metres before the roundabout. Follow it, go under the road bridge, then turn right and follow the road on your right.

(9) Cross the bridge over the Rhine, following the cycle path, then follow the river on your left. Cross two footbridges and arrive at a fork.

(10) Continue left, with the Rhine on your left, until you reach the bridge over the river, the Passerelle des Deux Rives.

(11) Cross the bridge and walk through the Jardin des Deux Rives. Then, turn right immediately at the Centre Équestre, following the “Sentier des Forts” route.

(12) Follow it to the right, then turn left immediately onto Rue François Noblat. Cross the wide boulevard, then turn left towards Strasbourg city centre, and continue to the end of Rue François Épailly.

(13) Turn right onto Route du Rhin, then take the first street on the left (Rue Coulaux). Cross the bridge under the railway lines, and turn left before the roundabout, then follow Rue du Port du Rhin. Cross the bridge over the canal and arrive at a junction.

(14) Turn right onto Boulevard d'Anvers, then keep right at the roundabout onto Rue d'Ostende, and turn left at the next one onto Rue du Général Piquart. Follow the canal bank and go up the next bridge.

(15) Cross the road and enter the Parc de l’Orangerie. Turn left immediately, then take the wide path on the right (Allée de l’Orangerie Joséphine). Go round the pavilion on the right, then turn right opposite it to reach the junction with Avenue de l’Europe.

(16) Continue straight ahead along Allée de la Robertsau and, at the end, keep right and cross the bridge over the Ill. Continue along Avenue d’Alsace, then Avenue des Vosges, then turn left onto Boulevard Clémenceau, then right onto Rue de Bischwiller, and you will soon reach Place d’Haguenau (S/E).
