At Pont-du-Fossé, park in the car park in the centre of the village (location of the ice rink in winter).
(S/E) Walk along the Drac (torrent) and cross the bridge that leads to Pont-du-Fossé, then turn left immediately after the bridge.
(1) After 100 metres, turn left onto a dirt road and follow the Drac as closely as possible. Continue along this road until you reach the forest, where you will have to climb a steep slope until you reach a flat path. This path runs alongside a canal.
(2) Turn right onto this path and follow it westwards through the forest.
(3) Turn left onto a path that climbs the mountain. Pass the hamlet of Le Costillon and continue until you reach Coste Belle.
(4) Cross the ruins of the old village of Coste Belle until you reach a wide path that turns into a forest road and continue climbing.
(5) Turn right onto a beautiful forest road that continues steadily uphill through the forest.
(6) You will arrive at a crossroads of forest roads, the highest point of the route. Turn right and begin the descent, still on a forest road. The village of Saint-Léger-les-Mélèzes becomes visible at certain bends. Continue until you reach a tarmac road, where you should turn right for 50 metres.
(7) Leave the road on the right and take a path. Follow the yellow markings. The forest path down the valley is very pleasant.
(8) At the intersection, head towards Bois la Barbe, staying on the path until you reach a larger path, where you should turn right. Cross a road and continue until you reach the canal path.
(9) Walk along the canal, turning right (do not take the nearby tarmac road). You will pass a very pretty waterfall.
(3) At the crossroads, turn left and descend to the village of Pont-du-Fossé. Return to the intersection you passed at the start of the route.
(1) Follow the route in reverse to return to the car park (S/E).
