Park above the hamlet of Le Laus, in the car park alongside the D902 road leading to the Col d’Izoard.
(S/E) Head north along the well-markedPR® (yellow) trail, where a sign points to Fort de la Lausette.
You’ll soon enter the forest after heading south-west.
(1). Follow the Combe du Malazen before turning north to cross the scree slope.
(2) Head back into the forest, heading west.
You’ll reach the junction with the Loubatières cross-country path.
(3). Leave this on your left and turn right onto the path leading to the old military track. Turn left and, at the plateau at elevation 2289, turn right onto the track leading to Fort de la Lausette. Reach the fort.
(4) Turn round and return to the plateau; take the track opposite and, heading south-west, reach a junction.
(5). Take the path on the left, which runs across the terrain at first, before tackling the steep but easy climb up to the Col des Peygus.
(6) Begin the descent and head for the small lake.
(7) The path turns eastwards and leads to the Chalets d’Izoard.
(8) Turn left and begin a very gentle climb to enter the Bois des Loubatières, where the cross-country path leads to the Fontaine des Loubatières, a crossroads of paths.
(9) Take the path on the right and, after a long descent with numerous hairpin bends, you’ll come out onto the D902 road.
(10) Follow it to the left for about 300 metres before reaching the car park (S/E).
