(2) Turn right onto theGR® and follow the red and white markings. Pass through the hamlet of Sous les Ayres and arrive at a Y-junction.

(3) Leavethe GR®44here and follow the track on the right to its end at the Grotte des Protestants.

(4) Turn right into the woods onto the Chemin de la Valette, which offers lovely views of the village of Naves and the Bourdaric cirque. At the end of the descent, you’ll reach the Bourdaric again.

beautiful walk, beautiful scenery,
visit the Protestant cave, which is worth seeing; it's a circular route along the edge of the trail.
sometimes the markings are hard to find.

We went on a lovely hike, mostly through woodland. It was very pleasant in the heat.
By following the description and the GPS, we had no trouble at all. The village of Naves is beautiful and well worth a visit.

A lovely route, though there were a few tricky bits at three junctions, mainly due to the GPS track being a bit vague
A lovely walk along well-maintained paths; best avoided in wet weather as the stream you have to cross can quickly swell.

This hike was done as an extension of the Malarce Cirque trail in reverse, following a visit to the village of Navesc. A must-see, even though it’s easy for experienced hikers. (I’m 74 and found it perfectly manageable)
