Park your car in the car park at the Naves cemetery.
(S/E) Head towards the road to Naves and reach the village. Walk towards the church and descend towards the Chemin de la Valette, taking the path next to the town hall.
(1) Cross the road and continue along the path opposite, following theGRP® le Cévenol. At the three-way junction, leave it by turning right to cross the Bourdaric via the bridge. Then turn left to begin an ascent. At the three-way junction, keep right and join theGR®44at the hamlet of La Villarde.
(2) Turn right onto theGR® and follow the red and white markings. Pass through the hamlet of Sous les Ayres and arrive at a Y-junction.
(3) Leavethe GR®44here and follow the track on the right to its end at the Grotte des Protestants.
(4) Turn right into the woods onto the Chemin de la Valette, which offers lovely views of the village of Naves and the Bourdaric cirque. At the end of the descent, you’ll reach the Bourdaric again.
(5) Cross it and begin an easy climb to reach the junction you passed on the way out.
(1) Follow the route you took on the way out in the opposite direction to return to the car park at Naves cemetery (S/E).
A lovely route, though there were a few tricky bits at three junctions, mainly due to the GPS track being a bit vague
