(S/E) With your back to the statue's pedestal, on the "À Vercingétorix" side, go straight ahead to take Rue Blatin. Pass "So Chic" (on the right-hand side of the street, no. 10), turn right onto Rue Michel Hughes, then left onto Rue Lamartine. Cross Rue Gabriel Péri. At the next intersection, turn right onto Rue Sainte-Geneviève, pass "Maxwell Street" (on the right-hand side of the street, no. 4).
At the T-junction, turn right onto Rue Jean-Baptiste Torrilhon, cross Rue Gabriel Péri again, and continue straight ahead onto Rue Saint-Dominique. Stay on this street, ignoring all side streets, until you find Rue de l'Ange on your left. Turn onto it, passing "Balkane" (on the left side of the street, no. 21). At the crossroads, continue straight ahead on Rue de l'Ange, passing the Palais de Justice on your left. At the T-junction, turn right onto Rue Sainte-Rose and continue to Place Gilbert Gaillard.
(1) Turn right for a few metres, then left to follow the tram line. Turn right onto Rue du 11 Novembre for a quick visit to the Julien Flandin jewellery and watch shop (on the right-hand side of the street, no. 4). Retrace your steps, turn right and then immediately right again onto Rue Saint-Pierre. You will arrive at the market square (Place Saint-Pierre). Continue straight ahead, walking along the market on your left, turn left behind the building, then left again as soon as possible. Walk past "Lilipuce" (on the right, no. 4), and continue around the market until you reach Rue de la Boucherie, which branches off to the right.
Turn onto this street, pass "Au commerce équitable" (on the left-hand side of the street, no. 14) and "Lisa Couture" (right next door). Continue to Place du Marché aux Poissons (with a fountain) and note "Cousette et Tricotine" (at the end of the square on the corner of Rue Boirot, no. 1). Retrace your steps and take the second left, Rue de l'Ente.
Walk past "Chambre 16" (on the right-hand side of the street, no. 3) and Maryloo Chantilly (almost opposite on the other side of the street, red round door, no. 4 Place des Gras) and Room 16 (also almost opposite on the other side of the street, no sign, white round door, Rue de la Coifferie, no. 10).
When you reach Rue des Gras, turn right, walk a few metres, then turn left onto Rue Tranchée des Gras. Walk past "Naturellement" (on the left side of the street, no. 2). At the end of the street, turn left onto Rue des Chaussetiers and you will arrive at Place de la Victoire.
(2) Walk past Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Cathedral on your left. "Le Bibliovore" is on the small square on the right (No. 4, Rue du Terrail). Turn left just behind the cathedral (Rue des Grands Jours), then right onto Rue Philippe Marcombes. Continue straight ahead, walk past the façade of the Town Hall, then turn right at the corner of the building and follow Rue du Port. Walk past "SQE" (on the left-hand side of the street, no. 5) and "Chacun Cherche" (opposite, on the other side of the street, no. 4). Continue along Rue du Port, passing "Kiff, Peace & Kiss" (on the right-hand side of the street, no. 16), then "Cousette" (on the left-hand side of the street, no. 33).
(3) At the Notre-Dame-du-Port Basilica on the left, turn right onto Rue Villeneuve. Stay on this street at the next crossroads. At the end of the street, follow Rue de l'Oratoire on the right and at the end of it, make a slight right turn and immediately turn left onto the same street.
At the intersection with Rue Blaise Pascal, turn left, immediately passing in front of "L'Affinerie" (on the right-hand side of the street, no. 11). When you reach Place du Terrail, continue straight ahead (passing to the left of the fountain) onto Rue Savaron. Pass the café "Rosa da Rua" (on the right-hand side of the street, no. 10) and you will arrive at an intersection. Continue straight ahead onto Rue Abbé Girard.
At the end of the street, after the right-hand bend, continue straight ahead on the right-hand side of the small square (Rue Ballainvilliers) and then, as it continues, Rue Saint-Esprit.
(4) Ignore the street on the right (Rue de la Treille, which has no street sign on this side; take this street on your way back) and the streets on the left. When you reach the crossroads, pass "Esprit BD" (on the left-hand side of the street, no. 29), then turn left onto Rue Maréchal de Lattre et de la1ère Armée to find "Les Belles Vies" (on the right-hand side of the street, no. 6). Retrace your steps by taking Rue Saint-Esprit.
(4) Turn onto the first street on the left (Rue de la Treille). Ignore Rue Forosan on the right and immediately pass "La Pochothèque" (on the right side of the street, no. 29) and "Le Grenier à Fringues" (opposite, on the other side of the street, sign not very visible, no. 10). Turn left onto Rue Paul Leblanc.
At the T-junction with Rue Saint-Genès, turn right. At the crossroads with the fountain, Place Royale, "Miss Joséphine" on the right of the fountain (no. 3), walk a few metres to the left then turn right onto Rue Terrasse. Shortly afterwards, turn left at the corner of the pub with the spider (look up), Rue Prévoté (discreet alleyway).
At the end of the alley, walk a few metres to the left and immediately turn right onto Rue de la Préfecture. Walk past "Le Hangar" (on the right-hand side of the street, no. 16). Follow the street as it curves to the left to reach Boulevard Dessaix and turn right to find Place de Jaude and Vercingétorix (S/E).
