Departure from the Ferme Vagabonde car park, 117 Route des Combes.
(S/E) Set off along the edge of the woods, then turn left and head straight on until you reach the road at the hamlet of Collevray.
(1) Turn left and follow the road downhill to the end of Chemin de Collevray.
(2) Turn left and cross the D18 with care, then quickly take Chemin du Sauzey on the right.
(3) Pass through Le Sauzey with its castle, turn right and follow the road to the end.
(4) At La Combe, turn right and stay on the main path until you reach a three-way junction.
(5) Keep to the right and head towards the Ruisseau du Thel.
(6) Take the opportunity to water the donkeys. Then continue on to the hamlet of Le Thel.
(7) Cross the road (D32) and continue along the path climbing up opposite until you reach a road (picnic table).
(8) Ignore it and take the hairpin bend to the left (part of the Way of St James) and head straight on to the four-way junction at the Croix du Pendu.
(9) Leave the GR®76A and head left. Follow the path to a crossroads.
(10) Turn left, taking care, onto the D32, Route de la Serve, then turn right at the next junction and head for the Folies de la Serve guesthouse.
(11) Continue along the path as it continues, then turn right at the next set of junctions to reach a road.
(12) Follow it to the left (D18) and, after about 100 m, take the track on the right, located at the foot of the sign for the Avenas Departmental Forest. Pass the picnic table and continue straight on until you reach a three-way junction.
(13) Keep left, then right at the next junction. Stay on the main path and carry on until you reach a crossroads.
(14) Ignore the tarmac and continue along thesecond path on the right, almost opposite. Keep left at the next three-way junction and carry on straight ahead until you reach a junction.
(15) Ignore the first turn-off on the left and take the next one. After two successive steep climbs, you’ll reach the Croix de Rochefort.
(16) Cross over to the other side and descend, following the ridge to the Croix Callet. Continue straight ahead and you’ll soon reach a three-way junction.
(17) Continue to the left (GR®76). At the road, head straight on, then take the path on the left and continue straight on, downhill, to the village of Avenas.
(18) Cross the village following theD18E to the left and, just after the ‘end of built-up area’ sign, take the sharp right-hand bend onto Chemin du Petit Callot. After 50 m, take the path on the left and begin a long descent. At the bottom of the valley, ignore two turnings on the left and head for the next junction, at a place called Le Sauzey.
(19) Turn right towards Les Combes and, after a steep climb, reach a road (D18).
(20) Cross it carefully and continue climbing up the path opposite until you reach a road.
(21) Follow it to the left, then keep left onto Route des Combes, and head towards Ferme Vagabonde (S/E).
