Description of the walk

Park in the Esplanade du Château car park.

(S/E) From the car park, walk up Rue des Pyrénées towards the town hall.

(1) Turn left and follow Rue Lapassade for approximately 650 m. Turn right onto Rue Saint-Roch and continue to the Allées des Chênes.

(2) Follow the side road to the left and, at the end of the housing estate, continue straight on for 400 m.

(3) Turn right, then immediately left onto the path which climbs and then descends to cross a small stream.

(4) Continue through the woods, turning right twice, cross the small stream again and join a track suitable for vehicles. You will reach a road at a wayside shrine.

(5) Follow it to the left towards the south, ignore two roads on the right and arrive at the start of a path on the left.

(6) Take this path and continue along the track opposite. At a fork in the road, turn left and climb up to follow the ridge path. Follow it for 1.5 km until you reach a junction at a right-hand bend.

(7) Leave the ridge path. Head downhill, turn left once, then left again, heading due north, to reach a crossroads (elevation 374).

(8) First turn left then right and take a new path that passes under a power line.

(9) Continue eastwards and pass under another high-voltage power line. Cross a road and arrive at a junction.

(10) Take the path on the left and continue to Rue des Pyrénées, which joins the junction with the D15.

(11) Cross it and continue straight ahead to reach the Esplanade du Château car park (S/E).

A very pleasant route on a lovely, sunny spring day.
I saw a few signposts but I followed the author’s GPS track, so I don’t know if all the signposts are actually there! The GPS track is spot on, though.
No particular difficulties

The trail markers are missing; are there no longer any signs for the Lapassade route? That’s a shame, as this walk is lovely and varied

A very pleasant route, particularly the first, more wooded section.
The signposts are clearly visible and precise.
The circular loop presents no particular difficulties.
