The Camino del Norte from Getaria to Zarautz

To get to the start: head to Getaria and park in the harbour car park.

(S/E) From the car park, head right into Portua Kalea. At the next junction, turn left, then walk up into the town via the main street. Walk to the end of Kale Nagusia Kalea to find the yellow arrow for the Camino del Norte.

(1) Turn left to head towards the seafront. Take the footpath running alongside the N-634. Cross Portua Kalea to reach the Camino itself

(2) Turn right. The path from Getaria to Zarautz is paved, overlooks the shore and runs alongside the sea to Zarautz Beach.

(3) Turn back and retrace your steps to the entrance to Getaria.

(2) Continue straight ahead, still following the shoreline, to return to the car park (S/E).

The path is a wide concrete track with no motorised traffic.
Avoid on very hot days and, above all, remember to bring a hat.

After this walk, you might want to have a picnic on the Rock of San Antón, which the locals call the Ratón.

The village of Getaria is home to the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum.
