Description of the walk

(S/E) Small car park at Clos des Cailles, go up this street and take Rue du Coq Anglais on the left to the roundabout and turn left into Rue de la Coquinie. Go straight down to a passage between the houses on the left.

(1) Take the passageway and continue to Clos des Ramées. Turn left and then right in the passageway to reach Avenue Reine Astrid. Go down the avenue on the right and take the passageway on the left which joins Avenue Comte Basta. Immediately turn right and take the path which leads to the rear of the Château des Comtes. Go around the château on the left.

(2) At the entrance to the castle and the Martine Publishing Museum, there is an information panel. You can enter the castle courtyard and visit the museum. Continue the tour along the moat and the museum to reach Avenue Reine Astrid.

(4) When you reach Rue de la Coquinie, turn right and then left to walk alongside the car park via Avenue de la Promenade, continuing straight ahead to the other end of the car park.

(6). Cross it carefully and take Rue du Triloy opposite (limited traffic). Continue straight ahead, passing a road on your right and then a farm access road on your left.

Before the railway line, turn right onto a wide black gravel path. At this point, halfway along, you can stop at the small park with a picnic table. Follow the path below the railway line until you reach a tarmac road with a tunnel under the railway line on your left.

(8) Turn right and follow this tarmac road straight ahead until you reach the junction with the Chaussée de Gand N43

(9) Turn left, then right onto Chaussée d'Aalbeke. Follow this road for 100 metres and, at the three-way junction, turn right onto Rue de la Coquinie.

(10) Turn right, then take the path immediately on the left and continue straight ahead to Rue du Gibet. Follow this street, which turns left, to Rue du Bois Fichaux. Turn right and continue to Rue de l'Oratoire.

(11) Turn left and follow Rue de l'Oratoire.

(12) At the Oratoire crossroads, turn left and go up Rue de la Fontaine Bleue, then follow the path slightly to the left until you reach a chapel and the roundabout.
