Route to the Crupillouse Lakes can also be found in the description: Crupillouse
(S/E) Start from the car park in the village of Les Beaumes. Follow the road for a few metres and turn left towards “les lacs de Crupillouse”.
(1) The path climbs to the right and is signposted all the way to the end.
(2) Passing the Pas de l'Ours, with a view of the Cascade d'Amblard, the path continues with numerous hairpin bends.
(3) Continuing uphill, cross several streams with no difficulty; the path continues to climb, somewhat grassy and somewhat stony, until the first lake.
Route to the Col de Parières:
(4) Turn left at the remains of a ruin.
(5) Take the path marked by cairns on the left.
(6) Reach the upper lakes.
(7) Afterwards, with no more cairns, improvise whilst keeping the Col de Parières in sight, passing to the left of the Col de Veyre.
(8) Find a passage between the rocks to the pass.
(9) From the Col de Parières, head down to the left.
(10) Take great care when crossing the rocks and turn right to reach the junction you passed on the way up.
(8) Continue to the right to return to Lac Supérieur.
(11) Continue on to the junction you passed on the way up.
(7) Begin the descent via a route slightly further east of the ascent (it is also possible to take the reverse route of the outward journey from here) and return to the junction passed on the outward journey.
(6) Then return to the Beaumes car park (S/E) via the reverse route of the outward journey.
