Worth a visit

Lake Uby links Cazaubon and Barbotan-les-Thermes. Throughout the year, it hosts a variety of sporting events, some of which are internationally renowned, such as the French rowing championships. This sport is also practised throughout the year by keen enthusiasts and beginners alike, as part of a taster day, thanks to the “Armagnac Aviron Club” (offering introductory and advanced courses), a dynamic association that enables everyone to row on this lake, renowned for its tranquillity.
As you stroll around the lake, you’ll come across anglers fishing for carp, predatory fish or white fish, and you may even have the chance to admire their superb catches. However, if you share their enthusiasm, do feel free to set aside your fishing rod and take part in the many competitions organised by the “Goujon du Bas Armagnac” fishing club throughout the year. You won’t be disappointed.
It’s also a place where you can recharge your batteries thanks to the tranquillity that reigns there. Go for walks, bike rides or horse rides along the path around the lake, which has recently been fitted out with a fitness trail. Whether on your own or with your family, these activities will brighten up your spa break or holiday.
Numerous tables, accessible to all, are set up all around the lake, perfect for picnicking, playing board games, reading, watching the many ducks or simply relaxing, whilst enjoying this beautiful green setting.
Just on the other side, you’ll find the Lac d’Uby leisure centre, where you can swim during the summer months in a supervised swimming pool (700 m²) or even in the lake itself, as well as enjoy water sports such as stand-up paddleboarding, pedalos, canoeing and a treetop adventure course.
Run from one play area to the next to find a slide or a swing, or water play areas for the little ones.
Three tennis courts, a volleyball court, a basketball court and a skate park round off these various attractions.

Very poorly signposted when you want to reach the lake shore opposite the dyke on the other side of the campsite!
