Description of the route

Set off from the car park on the esplanade of Paimpont Abbey. Other car parks are available in the village. It is also possible to reach Paimpont by coach from Rennes via the Breizhgo 500 service.

(S) On leaving the car park on the abbey esplanade, head to the left. After the square, turn left onto the cycle path, Rue des Forges.

(1) At the end of Rue des Forges, ignore the D773 and continue left onto Rue Lancelot du Lac, staying on the cycle path. Carry on straight ahead until you’ve passed the campsite at the exit from Paimpont.

(2) At the ‘Stop’ sign marking the end of the cycle path, go straight on towards La Ville Danet (on the left, just before leaving Paimpont, if you have stayed on the road). Continue straight on until you reach the hamlet of Riochon.

(3) Stay on the road to the left and carry on straight ahead until you reach a crossroad (D141) with a small bridge on your right.

(4) Turn left onto the D141 and take the first road on the right.

(5) Take this road towards Le Bran until you reach the next junction.

(6) Stay on the road to the left and continue to a four-way junction.

(7) Turn left, pass through the hamlet of Trévaye and arrive at a junction with a shelter on your right.

(8) Turn right and carry on straight ahead until you reach the junction with the D766.

(9) Cross it carefully, dismount to get over the small mound of earth blocking the old road to cars, and carry on straight ahead until you reach the end of the Route du Plan d’Eau, where the greenway between Mauron and Questembert starts on the left (E).
