Description of the route

To reach the start of the ride, park in Paimpont on Rue du Général de Gaulle (parking available at the starting point), or take the coach from Rennes.

(S/E) With the lawn of the Broceliande esplanade behind you, turn right onto the D773, Rue des Forges, and follow it to the roundabout. Continue straight ahead, taking thesecond exit, until you reach a three-way junction.

(1) Continue straight on the D773 until you reach the historic site of Les Forges de Paimpont

(2) Once past Les Forges de Paimpont, take the road on the right, the C11, towards Le Tertre. Continue straight on until you reach the junction with the D171, at a place called Le Cannée (fourth junction).

(3) At the junction with the D71, turn left towards Beignon and carry on straight on until you reach the village.

(4) Immediately after the ‘entering built-up area’ sign, turn left onto Allée des Affolettes and continue to Chemin des Pâturettes. You can go for a walk in the Aff Valley and visit the Rocher Glissant: lock your bikes here.

(5) To set off again, turn around and return to the previous junction.

(4) Turn left, pass the cemetery and continue straight on until you reach the crossroads in the centre of the village, Rue Saint-Cyr de Couëtquidant, D724.

(6) Turn left towards Plelan-le-Grand and head for the junction at No. 45.

(7) Turn right onto theD773Bis, Rue de la Mare de la Tour, towards Saint-Malo-de-Beignon. Continue straight on until you reach the entrance to the village and its Jardin des Evêques.

(8) To return to Paimpont, follow the route back to the junction after the hamlet of Le Cannée.

(3) Continue straight on the D773 to return to the junction on the Route des Forges.

(1) Turn left to return to your starting point (S/E).

Notes

Much of the route takes you through the forest and under the shade of the trees of Brocéliande.
Broceliande Bike, an electric bike hire company, is located at the starting point if required. Le Pas Sage, a sandwich shop, is also available if you wish to order a packed lunch to take with you on the ride.
There is a tourist information office in the centre of Paimpont.
