Park at the top of Cléron and Rue du Mont, near the water tower. The first half is unmarked, then there are good quality yellow and blue signs.
(S/E) Go up the small road reserved for residents. Turn around for a view of the castle and the rocks overlooking the Loue and, on the right, the ruins of the castle. Continue along this small paved road, passing a strange fountain with three basins. When the road stops climbing, it becomes stony and you will soon come to three paths.
(1) Turn right onto the stony path that leads into the pastures. Continue along this path, crossing the pasture.
(2) Leave this path by turning right into the pasture, about 60 metres before it enters the woods. At a majestic fir tree, turn slightly to the right and head towards the back of the pasture, keeping the edge of the woods on your left.
(4) Take the metal passage on the left and approach cautiously the viewpoint, now secured, overlooking the Val de Cléron, its castle, the Castel Saint-Denis and the start of the Norvaux valley.
(4) Return to the fork you passed earlier.
(2) Turn right to quickly enter the woods, walking alongside a pine forest on your left and a beautiful moss-covered stone wall on the other side.
(4) At a marker post, you will rejoin the trail, continuing straight ahead and leaving the path coming from the left for now. Shortly after the high-voltage line, look for the signpost indicating a path that winds to the right through a gap in the pile of stones gathered from fields, leading to the Rocher du Moine viewpoint, which offers a magnificent view of the Norvaux valley.
(6) Turn back to the marker post.
(4) Turn right, pass a large hunting cabin and return to the first fork and the road you started on.
(1) Despite the yellow and blue cross, don't hesitate to take the path that branches off to the right just before the "Pente 15%" sign for a short walk to a final viewpoint over the Val de Cléron, its castle and the rocks carved out by the Loue.
(6) Return to the road and descend to the right. About a hundred metres before the fountain, at a marker post, descend the wooded hillside along the stony path on the right. At the edge of the woods, take a quick look to the right for a lovely view of the Castel Saint-Denis before returning to the starting point (S/E).
