Starting point at Pont de Pany.
(S/E) Follow the fully-marked pink trail to Roche d'Anse, which starts behind the Hôtel Pont de Pany.
(1) At the fork, turn right. Follow the pink path along the cliffs, offering superb views of the Ouche valley and canal. Beware, however, of a few tricky spots where you'll have to make your way between pebbles.
(2) At the crossroads overlooking Mont Aigu, turn left, then right a hundred or so metres further on, heading east.
(3) Turn right onto the path, heading due south.
(4) Turn left to reach the foot of Roche d'Anse, then left again on a very steep slope. Then turn right to reach the rock. Enjoy the magnificent view.
(5) Retrace your steps and go straight ahead on the white path which runs north along the edge of the plateau. Leave the left-hand path, which joins the one you took on the outward journey, and continue straight on until you reach a crossroads.
(6) Turn left to go back over Mont Aigu, which you skirt by walking above the path you took on the outward journey. Stay on the marked trail, ignoring all the paths on either side, and return to the original fork.
Return slowly to the village (S/E).
A very pleasant walk, with no major difficulties. The climb up to the rock is steep but only a very short distance. But you're rewarded with a beautiful rock that's well worth the diversions... and the photo!
