Start from the car park at the menhir site.
(S/E) Follow the menhir path into the forest. At the next fork, at a bench (the menhir is a few metres to your left), turn left.
(1) Return to the arrival path and continue to the left. At the three successive crossroads, continue straight ahead, following the signs for "Côte sauvage, les Rochers verts".
When you leave the forest, climb the dune and descend to the beach. Walk along the top of the beach heading north.
(2) When you reach the Gachère lock, walk along it without crossing it, heading towards the car park. Walk along the road on the right.
(3) Just after a left-hand bend, leave the road and turn right into the Olonne forest via the Chemin de la Montée Chaumoise. Keep to the right, as the track is also used by bicycles, some of which travel at high speed. A few dozen metres further on, turn left and leave the cycle path to follow the red and whiteGR® markings.
At the next fork, ignore the path that branches off to the left and take the one on the right. You will rejoin the cycle path. Turn left onto it. Then leave it, following theGR® markings, and rejoin the cycle path. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead.
(4) At the next junction, leave the cycle path for good by taking the path on the right (La Chesnaie).
Continue following the red and white markings. Then turn left onto the path that bends. Without going uphill (do not climb the dune opposite), the path curves to the right and arrives at a crossroads. Turn left, following the signs for the menhir (see photo). At the next intersection, continue straight ahead, then turn right, following the signs for the menhir.
(5) At the crossroads, descend to the right down the Butte de Ski, continue straight ahead until you reach the path to the menhir near the megalith. Take it to the left to return to the car park at the menhir site (S/E).
