Departure from Auxelles-Bas, 12 km north of Belfort. Car park at the community centre near the church, access via Rue de la Paix.
The route is marked with green discs.
(S/E) From the car park of the community centre, take Rue de la Paix westwards to join the D12, which you follow to the right for 60 metres.
(1) Go up Rue de Creusevie, then turn right onto Rue de la Couche. Continue to Le Hautot and the junction with theGR®533. Green rectangle.
(2) Turn left onto Rue des Corvées until you reach the D12.
(3) Cross and follow Rue des Maisons des Bois, which climbs into the Bois d'Auxelles and turns into a wide path. Leave it on the right onto a small path and rejoin it 300 metres further on. Continue to the right and reach the next crossroads.
(4) Turn right and continue for 1 km.
(5) Leave theGR®533, which continues straight ahead, and turn left onto the hairpin bend path. Follow it for 1 km.
(6) At the crossroads with a turning area for foresters, turn left at a 90° angle and continue in a north-easterly direction.
(7) Turn left to reach Étang la Maman.
(8) After 500 metres, cross a wide stone path, follow it to the left, then take the path on the right a little higher up and continue for 600 metres.
(9) Turn right and head back downhill. You will come to a wide path. Follow it to the right and cross the bridge over the Rhôme. Walk up the path for 800 metres to reach the D13 and continue straight ahead to the roundabout.
(10) Continue straight ahead along Rue du Château for 300 metres and take the second left, Rue de la Paix, pass in front of the town hall and return to the car park where you started (S/E).
