Park in the Sainghin-en-Mélantois church car park.
(S/E) Head south on Rue du Maréchal Leclerc. At the small square, turn right into Rue du Moulin. Turn right into Rue Armel Marsy, then at right-angles into Rue du Président de Gaulle. Turn left, cross Rue de Lille and go straight ahead.
Pass under the power lines to quickly find a crossroads after the last houses.
(1) Keep straight on until you reach the freeway, then continue on the track, which bends twice to the left. Rejoin the railroad and pass under the bridge.
(2) Take the road to the right, then the 1e° to the left (Rue Gammand). At the end, turn right onto the D19.
(3) At the crossing, just before the bus shelter, turn left onto Chemin des Écoliers, following the red and white GR® signs. At the end, turn slightly left and right to find Rue du Marais. Reach the Marais district at house number 629.
(4) Take the left-hand path, and at the small turn-off keep to the same axis until you see a house (white), where you turn left. Cross the road and take the grassy path heading north. At the end, turn left into Rue du Bas Chemin and drive under the TGV (=high-speed train) bridge. Continue along the small pond.
(5) Turn right then left, still on the GR®, to reach the D955 road. You are now in Bouvines.
(6) Turn right onto this road, which is now Rue Marcel Dehau. Leave the GR® markings at the Marque river crossing. Stay on Rue Félix Dehau, and quickly turn left into Rue du Général De Gaulle. You will arrive in front of the church.
(7) Continue to the crossroads at the square, turn right into Rue Maréchal Foch and immediately left into Rue Maréchal Joffre. Cross the D94 and take the paved road opposite, called Chemin Entre Deux Dimages. At the crossroads, turn left into Chemin de la Briqueterie. Enter Gruson.
(8) Turn right into Rue Calmette, and at the fork turn left into Rue Calmette. Turn right to reach the beginning of Lotissement de La clef des Champs (housing estate).
Go around it to the right and head northeast on Chemin de la Chapelle Bouchery. At the end, take the left-hand path. Return to Chemin des Bourghelles and follow the A27. At the end, join Rue Jean Ochin.
(10) Turn right over the freeway bridge. Continue to the brick stone tablet with a ball. Turn left into Rue Arthur Bearez until you reach the Route Nationale (national road). Turn right for 50m.
(11) You're now opposite the restaurant La Petite Belgique. If you wish to eat there, you'd better make a reservation.
Otherwise, take the Nationale in the opposite direction for about 200 m.
Just after the Marque, take the left-hand lane.
Follow the Marque until you cross it on a wooden bridge.
Just after the stadium, turn right, cross the Marque again and take the path immediately to the left, which takes you along the Marque again.
Follow the freeway to the D94 (Rue Camille Dufay).
Pass under the freeway bridge and 150m further on, turn right off the D94 onto the track which takes you along the Marque again.
(12) Cross the Marque again to the left.
Stay on this road, cross an old railroad line and turn left 150m further on to go round the wood.
Keep to the left until you cross the Marque again, and follow it to the left.
Leave the track to join Rue Pasteur, which you'll see on your right.
(13) Turn left into Rue Pasteur.
Take the first left into Rue du Marais and continue for about 150m to the edge of the wood.
(14) Take the right-hand path through the wood. Ignore all left-hand paths. At the crossroads with Chemin de la Fontaine. Turn left on this path to find the church car park (S/E).
