Figeac - Espagnac-Sainte-Eulalie

Twenty-seventh stage of the Camino de Santiago. For this stage, you leave theGR®65to follow a charming alternative route that will take you off the beaten track and allow you to discover unspoilt nature with breathtaking scenery. Just before the charming little village of Béduer, you leave theGR® 65 to take the Célé route on theGR® 651. You will pass through the villages of Boussac and Corn, with their old houses typical of the Quercy region and their troglodyte caves. Then, nestled in the bend of the Célé, you’ll discover Espagnac-Sainte-Eulalie, two authentic villages merged into one. It must be said, the magnificent priory and its exceptional bell tower are worth the detour in their own right. It’s not without reason that the place is called Val Paradis.

Worth a visit

The village of Corn (21) with its old houses typical of the Quercy region and its troglodyte caves.
Espagnac-Sainte-Eulalie (E) is a small village home to a magnificently preserved priory, the Val Paradis Priory! Espagnac-Sainte-Eulalie has retained the tranquillity of its former priory, crowned by an exceptional bell tower. The imposing remains of the abbey make this village a special stop in this lush green setting.

As far as I’m concerned, the route isn’t as challenging in terms of the terrain and elevation gain as described in the information sheet, apart from the distance, but that depends on how fit you are.

Hello.
This route and many others are described as very difficult as soon as they exceed 20 km, which is highly relative depending on individual fitness levels. Wouldn’t it be more useful to provide the IBP effort index?

The hike went smoothly despite its length. Classifying it as ‘difficult’ and the pop-up confirming that I understood the route included hazardous sections is completely wrong. This needs to be corrected urgently, as it almost made me give up on this superb stage. It
