Esneux: a circular loop passing beneath the Rocher aux Faucons and returning over the top.

A magnificent walk with superb views. I recommend it in late autumn or early spring when there are no leaves on the trees so you can fully enjoy the scenery. Do not attempt this walk when it is raining, when there is snow, or when the Ourthe is in flood.

Description of the walk

(S/E) Start from Avenue Montéfiore in Esneux, next to number 112C. You will find parking spaces on the street. You start the walk along the Ourthe to the Rosière farm. You continue along the Ourthe to Fêchereux, passing beneath the Roche aux Faucons. Please note that this path is difficult (avoid it when it is raining and it is inaccessible when the river is in flood).

(1) In Fêchereux, climb up to the top of the Roche aux Faucons (steep climb). At the summit, retrace your steps along the ridge, where you can admire the superb view of the circular bend in the Ourthe. Then return to the starting point, passing by the village of Strivay (S/E).
