Park near the municipal workshops at Château d'Oléron.
(S/E) From the workshop gate, take the path immediately to the right. Cross Avenue Mendès-France and take the cycle path opposite. Reach the marshes between Les Briganières and Ors.
(1) Cross the marshes, staying on the cycle path.
(2) After crossing the small bridge, take the path on the right until you reach Route du Viaduc.
(3) Then turn right and continue for about 50 metres. At the crossroads, turn left onto Rue Gilbert Ranson and continue to the four-way intersection.
(4) Turn right, staying on Rue Gilbert Ranson. In the left-hand bend, turn right onto Rue du Verger, then immediately left onto the street that continues along a path through the fields, joining the main road.
(5) Cross it and take the path opposite between the two hedges. Follow this path and walk along the row of pine trees, turning right. Turn left in front of the fence to reach the mini zoo at Château d'Oléron.
(6) Walk along the enclosure where llamas, an alpaca, goats and a billy goat live: please note that these animals are not present all year round. Come out onto Rue du Moulin in Grésillon, turn right and cross the pretty village of Grésillon.
(7) Ignore Rue des Vignerons on your left and turn left about twenty metres further on into Rue du Pressoir, which bends to the right further on. At the T-junction, turn left and follow the path straight ahead to reach the Fief de la Gombaudière.
(8) Ignore the access road on the right and continue straight ahead, following the path between the vineyards and the forest. Pass behind the Fontembre waste collection centre to reach Route du Riveau (D240).
(9) Cross this road and continue straight ahead to the Riveau water tower. At the foot of the water tower, take the path on the left and continue to reach the Moulin privé de la Parée.
(10) Turn left once, then again about sixty metres further on to reach the small village of Deu via Rue du Puits Doux. At the crossroads, turn left onto Rue du Rozier and continue to the Villa du Soleil Couchant, notable for its pretty façade.
(11) Join Route du Riveau, follow it to the right until you reach the pedestrian crossing, then cross to join the cycle path. Turn left and follow it until you reach the D240 after a left-hand bend. Continue on the path parallel to the road to return to the crossroads you passed on the way out.
(9) Continue along the track, then turn right at the first path, then left to reach the D26 roundabout.
(12) Go around the roundabout on the right to rejoin the path that runs alongside a small road. Before reaching the water tower, turn right and follow several bends before reaching a T-junction.
(13) Turn right, come out onto Rue des Champs and continue along this road. Once at the end, turn left onto Rue de Bel Air to cross the Renisière. After No. 8, turn right onto Rue des Villageois, then leave it in the bend to take the cycle path on the left and return to the municipal workshop car park (S/E).
