Park at the entrance to the Montrevel-en-Bresse leisure centre.
(S/E) Do not enter the car park but walk along the fence of the pay-and-display car park and follow the path. Walk between the River Reyssouze and the Grand Lac. Walk along the D1A road on the right for a few metres.
(1) Continue right along the path that runs alongside the lake. At the junction with the same road, turn right to reach Lac des Orcières.
(2) Turn right to follow the path separating the two lakes. Reach the ford at Lac de Corcelles.
(3) Take the path on the left and continue to the Lac Buisson ford. Turn left to complete the circuit of Lac de Corcelles. You will reach a Y-junction.
(4) Turn right to pass under the height restriction barriers, reaching a four-way junction.
(5) Cross the road and take the Route de Corcelles opposite. Reach the Basses Corcelles junction.
(6) Take the path on the right. At the next Y-junction, keep right to reach the Hautes Vavres junction. Keep left to quickly reach a crossroads.
(7) Turn left onto this path, following a left-right bend, and pass through the hamlet of Grisard. The path widens and meets a road at a right angle.
(8) Turn left onto it, then at the next junction turn right onto the path. Cross the Leat des Tronches. Stay on this wide path to reach the hamlet of Les Combes.
(9) Make a zigzag turn. At the next crossroads, turn right onto the Route des Combes. You will reach a car park in the hamlet of Les Poiriers.
(10) Turn left at the Etrez hiking sign. Pass the picnic area before reaching the Arboretum.
(11) Enter the woods and continue along the main path. Leave the woods to reach a new three-way junction.
(12) Take the right-hand fork and enter the Bois des Cruizettes. Keep right at the next junction. You will reach the edge of the woods at the Grange Brûlée junction.
(13) Turn right. Follow the edge of the woods, passing Étang Pichon or Étang du Curé. Stay on this road, ignoring the adjacent roads. Pass Bouquérieux, the Ru du Spire, the hamlet of Les Piques and, a few metres further on, you’ll reach the junction at the Poiriers car park.
(10) Head left, follow the edge of the cemetery, and reach the junction with the D28 road, where there is a Stop sign.
(14) Make another left-right turn here. Continue through the village of Étrez. Go round the Clos des Cerisiers by turning left into Rue Vies de Bourg. Turn left into Rue des Cerisiers. Cross the D92c, continue on to reach the village of the same name via the Route du Village d’en Haut.
At the exit, you’ll come to a dirt track lined with hedges.
(15) Take this path downhill to the left. At the next path, turn right to reach Guelin
(16) Turn left, continue on, cross a ford before reaching the Citerne equestrian centre.
(17) Walk alongside the equestrian centre and join a path that runs alongside the River Reyssouze; continue along this path. Cross the Route d’Etrez to reach the car park at the entrance to the Montrevel-en-Bresse leisure centre (S/E).
