Park in the La Bovagne school car park in Méximieux.
(S/E) Leaving the school car park, take Rue Baudin on the left and continue in the same direction until you reach Rue de la Vuillardière.
(1) Turn left and follow this road, which becomes Chemin de la Vuillardière at the new housing developments currently under construction. This road is lined with hedges that hide meadows and fields.
This path runs alongside a first pond on the left, the Vivier. Continue until you reach a fishing pond
(2) Leave the path on your left that leads to the clearly visible Route de Chalamont and leave the tarmac road to follow the path on the right, lined with trees for a few dozen metres, then alternating between cultivated land and copses. You will come to a T-junction.
(3): Take the path on the right, join the tarmac road lined with trees and follow it straight ahead. This quiet little road runs alongside two ponds on the left before the hamlet of Pain Bénit, then a little further on, the larger, wilder Résilleux pond.
Continue straight ahead on this path, which is now called Charbonnières. You will reach another fork.
(4) Continue straight ahead on Chemin Napoléon, which slopes slightly downwards (leave the road that turns right). Turn right at the mill onto Chemin du Moulin as soon as you reach the first houses.
Stay on this path until you reach a few houses forming hamlets, then continue to the Vieille Rue crossroads.
(5) Turn right onto this slightly uphill street. Note the facades of the earth and pebble houses, then turn right and continue uphill on Rue de l'Église until you see the sign for Vierge de Saint-Sulpice on the left, where you can enjoy a beautiful view.
(6) Go around the pine forest via Chemin Saint-Sulpice or Rue du Tour.
(7) Continue on the left along Chemin du Petit Fétan, which becomes a dirt track. Keep going straight ahead to find Chemin du Palais.
(8) Take this path opposite. You will come back to the crossroads with Rue de la Villardière that you passed on the way there.
(1) Follow the same route as on the way there to reach the La Bovagne school car park (S/E).
