From the village of Lanmodez to the banks of the Trieux

A walk that begins with a stroll through the typical Trégor countryside, continuing for 40% of the route along the banks of the Trieux ria, before returning to the village of Lanmodez. Much of the walk follows grassy paths between fields and along the shore.

The path is poorly signposted, so don’t hesitate to use your GPS.

Description of the walk

In the heart of the village of Lanmodez, park behind the church, where the war memorial is also located; GPS coordinates: N 48.842445° / W 3.107089°.

(S/E) Turn right onto the main road (D20) towards Lézardrieux for 250 m. Turn left at the gable end of a house bearing the signs: Ker Guevelen and Poul Guillou. Turn immediately right and follow the road to the end of the tarmac road.

(1) Continue straight on along a grassy track, ignoring a turn-off on the left, until you reach a crossroads.

(2) Turn right onto the path leading down towards Traou Brestan. At the gable end of a building, first turn right then left. After 80 metres, you’ll reach the Route de Porz Guyon.

(3) Turn left, ignore the turnings to the left and right, and head for Pors Guyon beach.

GR®34 marked in white and red

(4) Follow the tarmac road to the left for 500 m.

(5) Turn right, following the GR®34 signposts, onto the descending track and then the coastal path overlooking the beach, until you reach the slipway at the Min ar Goas oyster centre.

(6) Continue along the coastal path to reach the Bonne Nouvelle Chapel.

(7) Walk round the chapel, continue along the GR®34, which veers left at the end of a field, and start climbing up the tarmac road.

(8) Turn right, walking past the restored Ker Annio mill.

End of the GR®34

At the end of the path, turn left onto the tarmac road and you’ll come out onto the Route de Bonne Nouvelle.

(9) Follow this road to the right, ignoring the turn-offs to the left and right, and head towards the village of Lanmodez.

(10) At the junction, continue to the right until you reach the main road to Lezardieux/L’Armor Pleubian (D20). Turn left onto the main road and you will immediately reach the church car park (S/E). Take great care on this stretch of road (which is very busy in summer) as there is no pavement.
