Access: Arriving via the D57, go past the Pendreff roundabout and continue for about 1 km. Look out for a sign on the right indicating ‘Gites Trémeur’. Follow Rue Sant-Trevel and then Prat An IIis as it continues. The road narrows, goes round some rural lodges and leads to the gable end of the chapel.

(S/E) With your back to the chapel, follow the path which leads to the old railway line, now converted into a cycle path.
(1) Turn left, cross Route de Kerléguer then turn right into Rue du Docteur Jacq. Follow this street, cross Rue des Fusillés de Poulguen and reach a car park with signs for “cycle path, access tothe GR® and water sports centre”.
Head towards the sea, then turn left onto Chemin des Communaux.
At the barrier marking the end of the path, turn right to join theGR®34.

(2) Follow the coast westwards. You will be walking along a wide path designed for access by people with reduced mobility. Continue with the Pointe de Penmarc’h Lighthouse in front of you. The path becomes sandy. Cross a small stream, then pass the water sports centre on your left and large boulders on the dune to your right.

(3) At the entrance to beach no. 28, turn right to cross a car park and follow a small road through a pine forest. Cross the next road and then the cycle path.

Continue straight ahead, then turn right at the three-way junction. Pass a wash house on the right, recognisable by its iron cross.
(4) At the roundabout, continue straight ahead: the burial mound is on the left (large information sign).
No signposting.
Return to the roundabout and follow the Route de Poulguen to the right. Ignore the streets on your right and left. After about 1 km, look out for a sign pointing to the Chapelle Saint-Marc.
(5) Go through the gate on the right and follow the long grassy path leading to the chapel. A small fountain is situated on the embankment just to the north as you walk round the modest building.
The tranquillity of the spot invites you to take a break.
Retrace your steps and notice a row of old fig trees on your right. At the road, turn left twice and follow Rue de Saint-Marc to the next junction, where you will find an electricity substation on your right, partly covered in ivy
Turn left.
(6) At the entrance to the Keradennec Saoul farm, turn right onto the grassy track which joins a wider path. Follow it, leaving a pylon visible from a distance on your left.

At the road, turn left to leave it, then right onto the first grassy path that winds through the fields, goes round a house and continues along a road leading to the D53 at a place called Kermathéano.

(7) Turn right then left at the three-way junction. Pass the narrow section for vehicles and the sign warning of children.
Turn left to enter a housing estate and continue to the end.

(8) Facing the ‘slow down, danger’ sign, veer right and continue across a meadow.
At an old maritime pine, make a left-right zigzag and continue straight ahead. On your left, you will see a children’s playground.
Cross a small stream and turn right onto a small road. Follow it to the next crossroads.
(9) Turn left and continue to Rue Sant Trevel. Follow this road to the right, then continue along Prat an Ilis.
You’ll come to the old bread oven and then the votive fountain.
(10) Walk through the fenced area of land around the chapel to return to the car park (S/E) .
A very pleasant route with sections on tarmac roads that are actually quite limited and, above all, unavoidable in this semi-urban area.
