Park in the large car park to the south at the entrance to the village of Lurs, near the cemetery.
(S/E) Set off to the left, heading north-east, pass the town hall, take a small path on the left and reach the crossroads at the viewpoint.
(1) Turn right downhill onto the well-marked yellow trail and continue through the forest to reach the junction marked ‘Saint-Pons’.
(2) Turn right onto the wide track, leave it at the next junction by turning left, and continue downhill to reach the Roman bridge.
(3) Cross the bridge, then join theGR®®653D– this is the Way of St James. Begin the climb alongside the D30. Continue along theGR®® following the red and white markings to reach the monastery car park.
(4) Walk almost level for a while to reach Ganagobie Monastery and carry on to the church.
(5) Follow this route back down to return to the Roman Bridge crossroads.
(3) Turn right to stay on theGR®® and reach a ford in a small valley.
(6) Continue the ascent via a few hairpin bends and you’ll then come to a crossroads of tracks. Keep left on theGR®® to reach, after a hairpin bend, thePR®® crossroads marked by a signpost.
(7) Keep to the right on theGR®® and leave the forest to reach a Y-junction.
(8) Turn left onto theGR®® to enter the woods and walk almost level. You will then reach the Chapel of Notre-Dame de Vie.
(9) Continue along the Promenade des Évêques, enter Lurs and return to the junction you passed on the way out.
(1) Turn right and follow the outbound route in the opposite direction to return to the cemetery car park (S/E).
