This hike is easy to follow, as you will be following the yellow PR® markings throughout the route.
Park in the historic centre of Nébian (small car park indicated).
(S/E) From the car park, take Rue Anatole France, cross Avenue Molière and head north on Rue Marcelin Berthelot for 200 m, then pass the church on your right. Take Avenue de l'Égalité.
(1) 50 m before the Calvary, turn onto the track that branches off to the left and climbs gently up into a wide valley.
(2) After 1.2 km, follow the yellow signs and take the path uphill to the right. Then rejoin the track at the highest point of the hike.
(3) When you reach the track, turn left and follow the track as it descends gently.
(4) Leave the track and take the path on the right. This path will lead you to the D128E10 road.
(5) Follow the road to the right and reach Villeneuvette by carefully crossing the D908. Pass in front of the former royal factory
(6) Turn left at the last building. Follow the marked path to enjoy a pretty, shaded 3 km circular on the heights of Villeneuvette.
(7) Leave the Ruisseau de l'Agassou by taking the path slightly to the right, which climbs steeply for about 200 m. Turn right once you reach the top, then follow the old water supply canal for the royal factories.
(8) Leave the Grand Bassin on your left and head towards the factory below.
(9) Take advantage of your return trip to visit the interior of the factory. Then take the road you took at the alley.
(5) Continue along this road for about 100 metres.
(10) Take the path on the right that leads to the Dourbie riverbed. You can enjoy this shaded, landscaped area by the water to eat and refresh yourself. Cross the village of Mas de Roujou, then head to the Dourbie river, which you will cross at the bridge.
(11) Turn right and further on, follow the track opposite for about 2 km.
(12) Turn left onto the path that climbs up the hill. This path will take you through a magnificent olive grove. Then pass in front of the Tourelle and reach the small Saint-Jean Chapel below.
(13) Leave the chapel on your right and turn onto the path below.
(14) Cross the stream via the small footbridge, then take the track on the right to reach the D128E10. Continue along the D128E10 for approximately 300 metres.
(15) At the crossroads, take the road opposite towards Taille-Fer, then continue along the track.
(16) Turn right to ford the Dourbie. Climb up opposite, following the yellow markings. Continue along a lovely flat path that leads to Les Baumes. Ford the Dourbie and continue along the track between the vineyards.
(17) Turn right, then immediately left onto the track and pass in front of a riding centre.
(18) Turn left onto the path that climbs towards the magnificent gardens of Pichaures. Enjoy the beauty of this perfectly maintained landscape among pine trees, cypresses and olive trees. Follow the markings to get closer to Niéban.
(19) Cross the road and head opposite into the Combe stream valley to complete your circular. Venture into the fortified part of Nébian before returning to the car park (S/E).
