Depart from the car park on the market square, located on the left at the entrance to the village when coming from the D148.
(S/E) Cross the Grande Rue and take the Rue du Marais opposite. Turn left at the end of the street and continue straight ahead. Walk along the castle on Rue Étienne Chouteau. Take a look over the low wall of the La Longèves bridge.
(1) At the crossroads, you will find a sign displaying the map of the marked route. Leave the path on the left (return) and take the first road on the left a little further up (Rue de Champ Bourde). Follow the markings.
(2) Turn right at the first road towards the hamlet of La Rouette. Walk past the greenhouse and at the end of the street, turn left onto the D104.
After 250 m at Chante Grelet, turn right onto a small path that descends towards the valley. Cross the stream and climb up to the right between Moulin Bernier and the house, following the wooden fence. Once you reach the plateau, continue to the right.
(3) At the hamlet of La Vallée d'Or, take the path that descends to the left, then climb up to the right to the village of Rousseau. Then turn left and then right after the house, continuing along a grassy path that descends towards the tarmac road. Continue and turn left onto the D104.
(4) After the bus stop, turn right onto Impasse des Chaumes, cross the hamlet of Les Chaumes and continue along the path to the Bois de Saint-Maixent. A huge hundred-year-old holm oak marks the entrance to the woods.
Be careful, from here on there are lots of ruts in the path!
(5) Turn left and continue straight ahead, following the marked path.
When this route was created, a variant was proposed on the right, but it had to be removed because it was a private road prohibited by the owner.
(6) Turn left at the fork in the hamlet of Rampi, then right and cross the village of Les Mouillères.
Turn right onto Rue du Bois Vert, then continue straight on to the Château de La Grand Court.
(7) Just after the château, take the path on the left that enters the château's wooded park (pass through the fence). You can see Château de Moulières on your right between the branches. Cross the small footbridge, walk along the meadow (view of the pond behind Château de Grande Cour) and continue through the woods until you reach the road. You can see large hundred-year-old oak trees.
(8) Before the road, take the path on the left that runs along the edge of the Parc du Château de l'Hermenault and head towards La Croix.
(1) Turn right onto the D104 towards L'Hermenault and turn right into Rue des Remparts (no entry).
(9) At the top of the street, go down the stairs on the left that lead to Impasse du Marais. When you reach the street, turn right and head towards the car park (S/E).
