The walk starts at the car park opposite No. 39 on the Route de Chantilly in the village of Vaumoise (Oise).
(S/R) Take Route de Chantilly westwards for about a hundred metres, then, at the junction, turn right into the street that descends into the valley.
(1) Turn right onto Rue des Moulins. Two hundred metres further on, you’ll pass a wash house.
Carry on to the hamlet known as “Le Maroc”.
(2) Carry on to the left along the small tarmac road that runs between the buildings and the pond. It then follows the left-hand side of the valley for about one kilometre, before crossing it via the Pont l’Abbé to run along its right-hand side for five hundred metres to the Vallée de l’Automne. It joins the D32 near the former Lieu-Restauré Abbey, which can be seen two hundred metres to the right.
(3) Take the D32 to the right. You’ll pass in front of the former abbey. After a few hundred metres, you can see the Donjon de Vez overlooking the Vallée de l’Automne.
(4) At the junction, turn left towards the Donjon de Vez (signposted). Two hundred metres further on, turn right onto the path running between two pillars. It climbs up to the entrance to the Donjon. Continue along Rue de la Croix Rebours.
(5) Turn right onto Rue de la Dîme. Continue along this road, then onto Chemin du Coti Baillet, which extends it. After a descent followed by a right-hand bend, this brings you back onto the D32.
(6) Turn left and follow the D32 for one kilometre. Keep an eye out for a few houses spaced some distance apart. Turn slightly right onto the path that descends into the valley at No. 9 on this road (the number is on the wall to the left of the gate of a large building with a veranda that juts out slightly over the road).
(7) The track crosses the bottom of the valley then climbs steeply towards Largny-sur-Automne, where it ends at the Chemin de Warnac. Turn left into Rue du Paty, then, at the end, turn right onto the D32 towards the church.
(8) At the corner by the cemetery, turn right onto Rue des Outhieux, which takes you back to Chemin de Warnac. Turn left and immediately go round the right-hand side of the “Le Clos des Chats Noirs” property to continue along the path leading down towards the valley. This takes you to the Moulin de Wallu.

(9) Carry on, following the small road to the left. It ends at the N2.
(10) Cross the N2, then carry on straight ahead.
(11) Pass through L’Automne and carry on to the Place de l’Église in Coyolles (approx. 1.2 km).
(12) Turn right onto Rue de Queue d’Ham, which continues as a path leading down into a small valley. At each junction, keep to the path on the right. The path climbs through the forest, then descends again to join a tarmac road in front of a railway level crossing.
Cross the level crossing and leave theGR®® as it turns left.
No signposting
(13) Leave the tarmac road as you exit the level crossing and turn right, at an angle of about 45°, onto an ascending forest track. At the next junction (after about 200 metres), turn left and continue straight on for 1.5 kilometres until you reach a large crossroads with a signpost in the centre (this is the Rond des Dames).
(14) Turn right onto the tarmac road, which takes you to a junction at the entrance to Plessis-au-Bois.
(15) Continue straight ahead along the road which, after a few bends over 800 metres, becomes straight. One kilometre further on, at the junction, cross it and walk for another kilometre until you reach the D88. This is the Carrefour d’Orléans (no signpost on site).
(16) Turn right and follow the D88, which, after one kilometre, joins the N2.
(17) Cross the N2 (be careful, as traffic can be heavy here). Continue straight ahead, then, after passing under the railway bridge, turn right onto the Route de Chantilly.
Another hundred metres or so and you’re back at the car park (S/E).
