Park near the Collioure Museum of Modern Art, ideally on Rue Jean Bart or in the Port d'Avall beach car park.
(S/E) Head to Rue Jean Bart and continue along the coast on the yellow-marked coastal path. Before reaching a restaurant, climb the stairs on the right (stunning view of Collioure) and take the D114 road on the left: don't worry, the route is on a safe pavement. Continue to a small car park where you will see a sign indicating that you should head down towards Plage de l'Huile.
(1) Leave the D114 and go down the stairs. Pass the residences and join Carrer de la Seca Llarga. Opposite, join Carrer d'en Jaumet and turn right. Go under a bridge and you will come out at Plage de l'Huile (or Plage de l'Oli).
(2) Cross the beach, go back up the road and turn left. At the roundabout, turn left towards IME de la Mauresque.
(3) Turn right, then right again to follow a path leading to Cap Gros and Anse de la Mauresque, steeped in history.
(4) Walk along Anse de la Mauresque and join Route de la Miranda.
(5) Turn right to reach the Port Vendres fish market. Follow Rue Arago to the right and continue to the church.
(6) Turn left, pass the Obélisque car park and walk along the quays to the Tourist Office.
Continue a few metres along the road until you reach a roundabout and climb the stairs on the right to reach Place de la Castellane. Continue straight ahead and climb the stairs again to reach a sign indicating several routes.
(7) Take the Route Stratégique on the right towards Fort Saint-Elme. Head to the small car park at the start of the access road to the fort.
(8) Magnificent view of Collioure. Begin the descent to the west along a small path and, a few metres further on, at the crossroads, turn right onto Chemin du Fort Saint-Elme.
(9) Turn left to reach the Moulin de Collioure and then, further down, the Museum of Modern Art. Return to the road and finish this wonderful hike by heading to the Port d'Avall beach car park (S/E).
