The hike starts on the forecourt of the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Cléry-Saint-André (car park to the south of the basilica).
Yellow-red markings (GR® 3)
(S/E) Head south-east, going around the basilica via the Pas Dunois and then turning right onto Rue du Cloître. Follow theGRP® (yellow-red markings), ignoring the Pas Cachon and Rue des Soupirs on the right, then Rue de la Gare on the left until you reach a crossroads.
(1) Turn left onto Rue des Bordes. Continue along Rue des Bordes past the right-hand bend, ignoring the two paths on the left; the street becomes Rue du Moulin. At the edge of the built-up area, take the path on the left just after crossing the Ardoux. This path runs alongside and then crosses the Ardoux on the left, becoming Chemin des Bonshommes, which you follow northwards to a place called Les Bonshommes.
(2) Turn right onto the wide Chemin du Bas des Bonshommes just after the houses. Continue along this path, which narrows until you reach a crossroads. Take the lane on the right that descends towards the Ardoux (Chemin du Gué du Roi), then turn onto the path on the left after crossing the Ardoux. This path makes a right angle to the right. Ignore the path on the left and continue until you reach the Route de Cléry-Saint-André, which you will take on the right. Leave the tarmac road and take the first path on the left after a few dozen metres. Ignore the path on the right.
(3) At the fork, leave the grassy path opposite and turn left onto the well-marked lane. This joins another path before crossing the Ardoux. Ignore the turn-off on the left.

(4) Take the lane on the left at the crossroads. This well-marked lane goes around the Butte des Elus (tumulus). Two paths in opposite directions provide access to it. Turn left onto the Cléry-Saint-André road, then immediately right onto Rue du Mont des Elus. After crossing the Ardoux, the lane bends to the right in the hamlet of Roland, then to the left (ignore the paths leading to the houses) until it meets Rue de Roland.
(5) Turn left onto Rue de Roland, ignore the side paths, and continue north until you reach the intersection with Rue de l'Aubier, where you will turn right. Take the first street on the left and continue northwest until you reach the Croix des Cinq Arpents.
(6) At the Croix des Cinq Arpents, turn left onto Rue des Cinq Arpents, then immediately left onto the path that runs alongside the woods. Ignore the paths on either side and continue south-west until you reach the intersection with Chemin du Gué du Roi, where you will turn left. Continue along this lane in a south-easterly direction until you reach the first path on your right.
(7) Turn right onto the path heading southwest and continue until you reach the intersection with Rue des Bonshommes at the edge of the woods and the entrance to the residential area. Turn left onto Rue des Bonshommes, then immediately right onto Chemin du Bréau. Pass Rue des Sarments on your right.
(8) At the intersection, take Chemin des Ruelles opposite, then, at the end, Rue des Ruelles on the right. Shortly after the veterinary surgery, take the path on the left towards the south.
(1) At the intersection, turn right and follow the same route as on the way there via Rue du Cloître, which leads to Pas Dunois and the basilica forecourt (S/E).
