Park in the small car park, which is still free, at the start of the straight road leading to the bay.
(S/E) Take the path from the riding centre that runs alongside the straight road to the bay, until you reach the pay car park. Enter the bay at Maison Pronnier.
(1) Immediately turn left onto the Sentier des Pêcheurs. Continue until you reach a right-hand bend.
(2) Here, if you're feeling a little more adventurous and have a GPS, turn right and continue straight ahead on a small path that leads into the dunes (this is the option we chose). You will then find yourself lost in a maze frequented by horses. The idea is to head west or follow the sound of the sea! Otherwise, take the more traditional route and follow the marked Sentier des Pêcheurs to the beach.
(3) On the beach, turn right to go around Pointe de Routhiauville, more or less far from the dune, which shrinks depending on the tide. Note the Berck Lighthouse to the north. Our route was mapped at high tide with a low tidal coefficient. The aim is to reach a wide path that leads back to the entrance to the bay. You may have to cross a ford or a few puddles.
(1) Once you return to Maison Pronnier at the entrance to the bay, follow the straight line from the riding centre and return to the free car park.
(S/E) At the far end of the car park, turn right onto the nature trail, which leads to an information panel.
(4) At the fork, continue straight ahead; the path on the left is the return path that leads back to this spot. The path is marked with signs, footbridges and viewpoints. Along the way, you may encounter the guardians of the dune, the Authie oxen.
(4) Back at the start of this second circular, take the path on the right and return to the car park (S/E).
