Parking is available on the right-hand side of the D66 (coming from Notre-Dame-de-Bondeville and heading towards Isneauville), shortly after the junction between the D66 and the D121 (Houppeville - Mont-Saint-Aignan). Several vehicles can be parked at the entrance to the Route Forestière du Câtelier.
(S/E) Cross the D66 and, almost opposite, take the Chemin des Cotrets.
(1) This road climbs slowly as you gradually pass from coppice to high forest.
(2) At the first major crossroads, at the end of the climb, turn left and follow the path for about 100 metres to the D90 (barrier). Turn left again and follow the side of the road for about 200 metres.
(3) Take the first forest track on the right (barrier) which crosses a sparse forest before reaching Chemin de Saint-Maurice after 350 metres.
(4) Turn right onto this path, which initially runs alongside a clearing. Continue to the D90, veer slightly to the left and cross the junction of the D3 and D90 (be careful, there is heavy traffic on the D3). Continue for 200 metres on the hard shoulder of the D90 after passing the Maison Forestière des Cotrets.
(5) Cross the D90 (take care) and turn onto a barely visible path that opens up to the right at a 45° angle and enters a dark undergrowth. It joins a larger path after 400 metres. Continue straight ahead, veering slightly to the right. After 300 metres, as the path descends, you will come to a crossroads.
(6) Turn right onto Chemin du Houlay, which winds its way through beautiful trees (beech), and you will arrive at the D 66 (barrier). Turn right and cross the junction of the D66 and D3 (caution: heavy traffic). 20 or 30 metres after this junction, turn right onto a small path that enters the forest.
(7) This path climbs steeply, running more or less alongside the D3, then turns left.
(8) When the slope levels out, continue straight ahead at the crossroads and continue to Chemin des Cotrets, which you took at the start of the walk.
(1) Turn left and continue to the car park (E).
. It's true that you should never set off without a map, even if you have a GPS.
