(S) With your back to the station building, turn left. At the railway bridge, continue straight ahead. Ignore the road on your right and go down to the Amblève. Turn left and follow the river. Before going under the road bridge, turn left and go up. Turn right, cross the bridge and continue along the road to the crossroads not far from the Comblain-au-Pont level crossing.
GRP® 571 Yellow and Red Trail Markings
Go straight ahead almost opposite into Rue de la Gare until you reach No. 15.
(1) Take the passage between No. 15 and the new building and go uphill. At the bench, turn left to discover the view of Comblain-au-Pont. Retrace your steps and continue climbing. Leave the forest and walk along the meadow. On your left, discover the superb view of the other side of the Amblève and the rock of an old quarry. Walk to the fork.
(2) Continue to the right, ignoring the path on your left, and enter the village of Oneux. A road will come up on your right, ignore it and continue to the next crossroads.
(3) Turn left and at the next intersection, continue to the right. At the crossroads with the church on your right, turn left. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead, walk past the cemetery and follow the farm track for just over 500 m until you reach a crossroads.
(4) Continue straight ahead for about 1.4 km until you return to a gravel road, which you follow straight ahead. Pass a large fountain (water not drinkable). The road becomes a track. Enter the village of Chambralles and walk to the T-junction at a place called Chambralles.
(5) Turn right. Go up the road, ignoring the road on your right after the bends. Look for the place called Puit Hayard on your right, with a cross, a wayside shrine, a well curb and three lime trees, and a path on your left.
(6) Turn left onto this descending path. Follow the road to the left for about 20 metres, then turn left onto the dirt track. Leave the track on your left and go uphill. At the corner of the fence, take the path on the left, join the road and turn left. After the end of the built-up area sign, turn right and walk along the rocky path until you reach a crossroads.
(7) Turn left and keep left. At the next intersection, with a cross hanging on the tree, continue right. Further on, you will see the Croix de Septroux.
(8) Keep left to make a hook under the trees and descend. At the bottom of the slope, turn left, pass in front of the houses and, at the road, continue left. Ignore the road on the right and continue downhill with a view of the ruins of the old castle of Emblève in the distance. At the crossroads, keep left and continue along Rue des Bruyères. Ignore the dirt track on your right and walk to the fork about a hundred metres further on.
(9) Keep right. The road becomes a dirt track. At the house, take the path on the embankment on your left, cross the dirt track and continue along the path opposite until you reach a junction.
(10) Turn right and stay on the main path. Fork left at the intersection and continue downhill to the junction with the N633. Cross with caution, go over the bridge over the Amblève and enter Martinrive.
(11) Before the three chestnut trees with the picnic table, turn left and climb the stairs on your right. Turn left and cross the bridge over the railway line. Pass the chapel, ignore the road on the left and the dead-end road on the right, and continue climbing until you reach the bend with the garages. Continue straight ahead between two garages, enter the Réserve des Côteaux de Martinrive and go uphill.
(12) Turn left before the tree marked "privé" in orange. Go up and continue right on the wide path for about 700 metres. At the intersection, turn right and go down the path that turns left. Go down to the old bridge deck.
(13) Keep right, then turn quickly left and cross the ford. At the crossroads, keep left and at the next intersection, continue right. After the short climb, with a collapsed wall on your right, you will see the ruins of the old Emblève Castle through the foliage, as the path is private. Continue left on the wider path and descend to the road.
(14) Continue straight ahead. Pass the Emblève castle and continue along the road for 1.4 km, keeping to your left. At the N30, turn right until the bend and the intersection with Rue de la Heid.
(15) Turn left and rejoin theGR® 15. Take the passage on the left in front of the houses, go through the chicane and climb up. Ignore the stairs on your right and walk to the multiple intersection.
(16) Take the hairpin bend to the left. Go uphill, follow the path and pass the liberation monument. At the entrance to the property, keep left and turn right onto the path. Enter the Heid des Gattes Nature Reserve. Stay on the dirt track for 800 m. Pass the Galveux slag heap and walk to the junction with the road, where you will see an oak tree and a bench.
(17) Keep to the right. At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead, ignore the path on the left and continue along the road. After No. 30, take the path on the right and keep right at the fork. Further on, pass a chicane, go downhill and arrive at the Walther Fostier viewpoint with a view of Sougnée-Remouchamps and the E25 motorway viaduct. Continue downhill. At the wide path, turn left and walk to the gate.
(18) Go through the turnstile and keep right at the fork. At the road, turn right and go downhill. Go under the bridge and continue downhill, keeping to your left. At the school, turn left. At thefirst road, turn right, passing a beautiful lime tree and its calvary.
(19) Keep left and pass the Immaculée Conception Church. At the Amblève, turn left and follow the river on the road or the towpath. At the crossroads with thefirst bridge, continue straight ahead and take the road that is one-way. Atthe second bridge, turn left and walk to the entrance to the Remouchamps Caves (E).
