Park near Feldbach Church.
Follow the red ring markings - Route des écureuils (Squirrel Trail).
(S/E) Leaving the church, turn right towards the Chapel of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows.
(1) After passing the small oratory built a few years ago, continue straight ahead. At the fork, go up to the right, then immediately turn left and continue along the forest on a grassy path.
Pass two paths on your right, walk past the Mennonite cemetery and continue to the hamlet of Birkenhof.
(2) After the chapel, follow the road to the right for 200 metres, then take the first rural path on the left. Continue straight ahead on this grassy path for 1 km.
(3) At the crossroads, turn right towards Riespach and continue along the marked path until you reach a crossroads.
(4) Turn left and head towards the village of Riespach, which you will reach via Rue des Vergers. Continue to the right, take the main street on the right for about 50 metres, then turn left into Rue de Ferrette.
(5) Turn into the first street on the left, Rue des Etangs, opposite the church built in 1785. Continue to the end of the street along the small path that joins Rue de la Montagne below. Turn right, then right again into Rue des Tilleuls. Turn right at the fork 100 metres further on, take Rue de la Forêt on the right and continue to a junction.
(6) Turn left and continue straight ahead along the path that enters the forest and passes several small ponds. After walking along the Riesbach stream for about a kilometre, take the small wooden bridge on the right and join the departmental road at the Medical-Educational Centre and chapel. Walk along the right-hand side for a few metres.
(7) Leave the road and turn left onto the concrete steps that lead into the woods and join the entrance to the village of Riespach and the Croix de l'Espen. Take the path on the left that climbs next to the cross towards Feldbach.
At the next fork, 100 metres further on, stay on the left-hand path and continue straight ahead until you reach the river. Continue to the right along the path that turns right and then left as it leaves the forest. Follow this grassy path up to the village and you will reach the district road.
(8) Turn left until you reach Schloessle. Turn right at the roundabout, then right again before the town hall, to reach the Romanesque church (S/E).
