Departure from the car park at Ferrette church.
(S/E) Go up the street to the right of the church to visit the sanctuary through the upper side door (blue circle, red diamond). Leaving the church, go behind the 1902 calvary and take the stairs on the left next to the statue, towards the Lourdes grotto (red circle). Go behind the chevet of the church and, after the first bend, take the staircase on the left. Then turn right and climb up to the foot of the castle.
(1) Turn left behind the ramparts and then turn right.
(2) When you reach the site of the old well, take a passageway built into the thick curtain wall. Turn sharply left. Then turn right towards the Grotte des Nains and go down a fairly steep path.
(3) At the foot of the lower castle, continue to the right towards the cave (blue circle).
(4) When you reach a wider path at the edge of the forest, turn right and, a few metres further on, take the path on the left towards the Heidenfluh (blue circle). Continue along the marked path (blue circle). Turn right to climb up to the Heidenfluh (640 m), which offers a beautiful view of the Sundgau.
(5) Head east-northeast towards the Plateau des Nains (blue circle). Descend the small path towards the cave (blue circle, yellow rectangle). At the bottom of the slope, turn right towards the Grotte des Nains (blue circle). Continue southwest towards La Keucht along a beautiful straight path.
(6) At the crossroads, continue south-west towards the Don Bosco colony (blue circle). Cross the D23 and continue west. Then cross the D432 and leave the colony on your right. At the reservoir, turn right (north). Cross a path and then turn left. At Rossberg, turn right (north-northeast) and reach the summit (tower).
(7) Head east downhill. Make a hairpin turn to the left and continue downhill (blue circle) west towards Ferrette. Make a few hairpin turns and return to the village (S/E).
