Park in the car park of the Michochêne hall.
(S/E) Take the tarmac path that goes up the west side of the building. After passing the sports field, the route enters the small streets of the village of Noyal, which you follow while keeping the elegant church tower in sight.
(1) Go around the church on the left and leave the square surrounding it via its north-east corner. A second small square follows the first, and you leave it via the alleyway that winds its way into the corner between the two rows of buildings, to the north of this square. This leads to Rue de Beaufort, which you follow to the right until you cross Rue des Anciens d'Afrique du Nord.
Continue along the passage opposite between two properties, which goes around the one on the right. This leads to a sort of meadow where the only landmarks to follow are the three oak trees in a row that point towards the Grand Beaufort farm.
(2) When you reach the road leading to the farm, turn left onto the small path that goes up the slope. At the beautiful Petit Beaufort building, the path disappears between two high embankments and becomes extremely wide. What kind of road could have passed through here?
As you approach the Ruisseau du Pont Pily, cross the departmental road with caution and continue opposite on the path along the hillside, just above the stream.
After about 200 metres, turn right to reach the stream and cross it via the stone footbridge.
(3) Go up the opposite slope and follow the path that winds between beautiful hedges until you reach the hamlet of Kervy.
(4) Turn right twice as you cross the hamlet and walk up the road lined with new buildings for about four hundred metres. Leave the road on the left when you reach the large cypress hedge surrounding the Kerdréan estate, where you can see the beautiful farmhouse standing on its lawn.
Go around the property following the conifer hedge. Once you have passed it, take the path on the left and go down the slope to reach the banks of the Tohon stream. Turn right at the crossroads, then follow the stream until you reach the footbridge that takes you to the other side. On the way, you will cross a secondary stream.
(5) Once you have crossed the stream, turn left to follow it downstream. Further on, the path leaves the stream and begins to climb the hillside. After a wide, steep circular bend, it meets another path, which you ignore, and continues straight on towards Bourgerel.
After the farm building, pass two paths on your left. There are some beautiful buildings to see in this village.
(6) Turn left in the centre of the village and follow Chemin du Moulin for about 500 m before reaching a small road. This path is deeply carved into the agricultural slope it drains. You can walk along it with your feet in the water when the ground is saturated, but the bottom is solid and there is no fear of sinking your feet.
At the road, turn left and walk up it for about 400 m. Halfway up, cross the Tohon again, to the right of the old Kerdréan mill.
(7) At the first crossroads after the bridge, take the path on the right which climbs steeply, following a hedge. After a steep climb, leave a section of moorland on your right as you pass a small wooded ridge. Gently descend the opposite slope, following the path lined with hedges and fences until you reach the outskirts of the hamlet of Trébignan.
(8) Leave the path on your left that leads to the first buildings in the hamlet and take the path on your right that leads away from it. After a left turn, you will reach a large farm track that leads to the village from the neighbouring hill. Follow it to the left until you reach the first farm buildings, then turn right when you get there. The path curves widely and joins the bottom of the valley, where it crosses the Ruisseau du Pont Pily stream.
(9) Cross the stream via the footbridge and climb up the opposite slope. Walk through wooded moorland, descending to reach the Ruisseau de Pont Noyal. A dyke and a large footbridge allow you to cross the stream without getting your feet wet, just above the ford used by agricultural machinery. Climb the slope opposite until you reach the top, with a view of the village of Brulis.
(10) When you reach the path leading to the village, turn your back on it and descend the beautiful path that leads to the bottom of the valley, surrounded by beautiful wooded countryside. Follow this path until you reach the willow grove at the bottom of the valley. Cross a ditch that winds between two ponds before tackling the slope below the hamlet of Bodremoël.
(11) Leave theGR® to reach the hamlet, and turn left to take the path that goes around the Michochêne hill. This path is marked with information panels about the arboretum that has been planted along the valley. As you pass, don't miss the Gravelle rock, which is balanced just above the path. Gargantua is said to have dropped it from his shoe!
After a wide circular route, the path climbs back up into the woods to join the path that cuts across the top of the plateau. Turn left to reach the Pont Noyal stream and cross it downstream from a small pond. Then climb up a fairly steep path that leads back to the starting point after 150 metres (S/E).
