Park in the Espace Rabelais car park in Smarves.
(S/E) With your back to the hiking sign, cross the small meadow towards the woods to the north. Head to the far right of the woods and find the path that runs along the garden fences. Follow it between the woods and gardens, then turn left along the Route de Ligugé (D87). Halfway along, the path crosses a small tarmac road. Continue to the junction with the D87D.
(1) Turn left onto the first tarmac road (at this point, you can continue straight ahead and take the second tarmac road on the left, just before the bridge, which turns into a dirt track along the Clain and rejoins the route a little further on).
Continue along the road to the junction at Port Seguin.
(2) Take the road on the right, joining theGR® de Pays (yellow and red markings). Pass under a power line and reach a T-junction.
(3) Continue left, then right, taking the first path on the right immediately after the Foix farmhouse.
In the forest, continue to follow theGR®, which turns right in front of a private road, then after the descent turns left. You will arrive at a new four-way crossroads.
(4) Leave theGR® by turning left to join the tarmac road (D88). Cross the small bridge on the right towards Chézeaux and continue to the crossroads. There, just opposite the end of the D4A, take a very small path on the left (Sentier des Rivières) which starts between a light-coloured earthen slope and a garden (both private). Please note that the path is hidden from the road by a hedge of trees, so you will need to walk a little way forward to see where it starts.
Follow this path along the leat de Chézeaux to the Gué de Jardelle.
(5) Turn left, following the signs for hiking trail no. 6 (yellow-orange).
Once you reach the tarmac road, leave route no. 6 and continue straight on route no. 5 (grey-brown).
(6) At the fork, continue straight ahead. (Note: at this point, the path is not marked on the IGN map, but it does exist!)
After the fields, join a tarmac road, continue along the path that runs alongside the road and continue on this path when it crosses the road and then moves away from it towards Les Gallys (again, this section is not marked on the IGN map). Reach the residential area of Les Gallys.
(7) Turn right onto Chemin des Eulets; pass the new residential area and turn left at the second road, which passes in front of the waste collection centre. After the waste collection centre, continue left onto Promenade de la Rangonnière.
Leave the vehicle-free zone, ignore the first roads on the left and right, and join the main road (Route d'Andillé).
(8). Continue right to the church, go around it on the right or left and return to the starting point on the right (S/E).
