The Schwingmuehle car park is located 5 km north of Bitche on the D162a, towards Hanviller.
Single signposting throughout the route: Blue Ring.
(S/E). From the car park, cross the bridge over the Horn, cross the road with care, and follow the path that climbs gently opposite and follows the Neubach Valley. Pass the Neubach Waterfall, then a smaller waterfall a little further on. After a drinking trough, follow the gentle climb to reach a junction with a forest track.
(1) Follow the path on the left. Further on, cross the D962 with care and continue along the same path, which veers to the right and leads, about 2 km further on, to some waterfalls on the right (a 5-minute round trip along a narrow path). Then, continue along the same path to reach the D162b.
(2) Turn right and walk past the Chapelle des Rochers, then continue towards Schorbach until you reach the junction after the post office.
(3) At the junction, follow Rue de l’Église, which climbs slightly to the right and leads to the church and the ossuary. After your visit, go down the steps behind the church to rejoin Rue Principale, which you should follow to the right until the junction further on with Rue du Vieux Moulin.
(4) Turn left for a few metres towards the village hall, then turn right into Impasse des Jardins. Continue along Chemin des Sculptures to arrive in front of the village hall.
(5) After the village hall, continue straight on towards the Saint-Wendelin Chapel. After the chapel, continue along the same path. Pass several ponds to reach a left-hand bend where there is a pond surrounded by a fence.
(6) Turn left and follow the path which, via three fairly steep successive climbs, leads up to the plateau where you join a small road with a beautiful cross standing on it.
(7) Follow the road to the right for about 350 m.
(8) Before the bend, take the forest path on the left which, after several hairpin bends, leads to the Ravin du Loup.
(9) After the Ravin, continue along the same path, keeping to the left, until you reach the Ochsenmuehle Forest House.
(10) Turn right, cross the D962 with care and walk past the old Ochsenmuehle mill.
(11) After the mill, follow the path on the left and walk alongside the Horn to the Schwingmuehle car park (S/E).
